farewell princess (Carrie Frances Fisher - October 21st 1956 / December 27th 2016)
I'm living 2017 for Carrie Fisher and you can't stop me
episode viii is going to say âin loving memory of carrie frances fisherâ at the end and believe me when i say i will not be ready for it
Carrie Fisher,1980. Â Â
yo reblog this if youâre a star wars blog
i need to follow new ppl to change up my dash but i wanna keep it primarily sw. (some nonfandom/multifandom is okay but maybe like less than half of ur blog.)
Itâs hard to imagine moving forward without Carrie Fisher, but her legacy will remain even if she is not physically with us. She was someone who went through shit in life and still came out of it a princess. We all may never star in one of the most famous movies of all time, or be award winning authors, or help write one of the most famous Star Wars movies of all time, or be able to tweet with emojis in witty and hilarious ways, but we can all still be like Carrie. She survived, she thrived, she owned who she was. She was just as much of a rebel as Leia is.
We can carry on with Carrieâs legacy by loving ourselves and fighting for ourselves and being the kind of people that Carrie would be proud of. Whether it be writing that story youâve been dying to tell, looking in the mirror and saying âthis is my body and I fucking love it!â, or just simply getting up in the morning again and again keep moving forward. She would want to know that she is survived by a legacy of girls who give no fucks and who fight for themselves and who were inspired by everything Carrie gave to the world.
May the Force be with you, Carrie. Youâll always be royalty to me.
With all the people who have been lost in 2016, famous and not, itâs hard to remember there are billions of humans out there who still need inspiration, who need icons and heroes. Yes, weâve lost a lot of the ones who meant so much to us, but there are people in need.
Someoneâs gotta step up. Someone meaning us.
Okay, I like this. Iâm gonna start thinking about this. How can I be an inspiration to those who come after me? How can I live in a way that makes the people around me want to show off all the complications and challenges and triumphs of their lives, to love themselves, to rebel, to live? If the queen no longer lives, let her live in us.Â
These comments are so sweet and Iâm so happy to see the inspiration Carrieâs life has had on so many people!
In our grief for Carrieâs death, we can also celebrate her life by letting her spirit live on in us. Carrie was a bipolar, Jewish woman who gave no fucks and used emojis with abandon, which is honestly revolutionary in its own right, even removing the whole âaward winning writer and acclaimed actressâ from the situation. We can do so much to honor Carrie, even if it is as small as practicing giving no fucks or just getting through another day. Do it for Carrie!
She would be proud of all of us!
Iâm here with the chains when everyoneâs ready.
Rest in Peace Carrie Fisher (1956-2016) and Debbie Reynolds (1932-2016)
I donât want my life to imitate art, I want my life to be art. - Carrie Fisher
I only had radio growing up, so I loved going to the movies. I always had a thing for a fairy-tale ending. - Debbie Reynolds
