I’ve caught up on replies now and I have a few starters I need to work on, but Woo hoo on finally getting some time to get online! Let me know if I missed your reply, but as of right now I should be caught up on all active threads and just have three or four starters to work on!

Charming smiled. “That they would not.” He laughed. “Lead the way.” He gestured for her to start and he followed, taking in the sights as they walked while also trying to focus on maintaining his balance.

She could already feel the piercing look her mother was giving to her. Drizella would do the same if she were out of the shock produced for what was going on. Even herself was having a hard time reacting accordingly, or at least without showing so much nervousness and awkwardness in front of his majesty. As she slowly grabbed his arm Anastasia could feel her palms getting sweaty.
“Oh, no, I don’t mind at all.” At least she managed to give a normal answer without sounding too nervous while speaking. It was very difficult for her to do, though. Would you blame her?
“Oh good. I’m glad.” Charming sighed with relief. “It’s just... you look so much like my mother did when she was alive.” He opened up to her, now that they had found their way into a small alley with a fountain and no one around. “It was like seeing a vision. I simply had to make sure you were real.”
He turned to her and smiled. “And now I know that you are real. I hope I haven’t disturbed you.” He was suddenly shy and nervous. “I fear I have just made things rather awkward.

A New Nanny || Charming and Mary

It was a logical step, really. Mary adored children and thought she was pretty good with them as well. One needed to make a living and this seemed like a suitable job. Besides, it wasn’t like there were many other job opportunities for a woman. Most women were mothers and wives. Sadly, this had yet to cross Mary’s path. For now she’ll do, though. For she had been offered the best job in the entire universe, with the highest employer one could have: the king. Of course it was nerve wrecking and terribly scary but she would manage. This wasn’t about her, after all. This was about a boy who recently lost his mother. Poor thing.
Mary bowed when greeting the king, a kind smile gracing her soft features. Next followed his son, who she again greeted with a bow and the same smile. “It’s a pleasure meeting you.” she said. “—I believe we will have a wonderful time spending time with one another.” ——And she truly believed so.
The woman was extremely kind, and pretty to look at. Her warm greeting helped to soothe Charming’s initial fear of what she would be like. He smiled and ventured a little further from his father’s leg. “It’s nice to meet you too. My name is Charming. What’s yours?” He asked in a burst of courage, before ducking back again.

If he were a younger man, he probably would have suggested that the both of them to have a week of fun and adventure. However, given his age, his duties, and how tired he often was, he pushed the thought aside and sighed deeply as he sat himself down in a chair.
“Adventure is all well and good, but I do enjoy a healthy amount of stability. I mean, I am an old man after all. Perhaps that is colouring my thoughts.”
A somber expression washed over him; when he was young, he often felt very trapped within the palace walls, and even now, he felt stuck. Though, it was true in a way: he was trapped, the Prince was trapped–everyone here was trapped. Stuck to play their roles, stuck to always be on guard before the others before them, and it was all such a tiring façade that everyone masqueraded as. The Grand Duke then cleared his throat, a balled hand pressed to his lips, and then he spoke gingerly to the young Prince.
“Perhaps a hunt would soothe you? Or how about a horseback ride through the forest? Sometimes that helps clear my mind.”
Charming nodded at the Duke’s advice. He was saddened by the truth of them, though it hardly came as a surprise. He brightened immediately at the thought of a hunt or a ride. Being on his stallion were some of his more calming moments.
“That would be amazing!! Do you really mean it?” He asked, practically bouncing at the thought.

“Hmm, it’s a fine read.” Eugene hinted and walked right in, kicking his shoes aside. No way he was going to step on any blanket or pillow and possibly leave stains. “It’s a story about a princess called Cinderella. Just like your wife! I had to give it a go.”
“Well isn’t that funny?” Charming laughed. “You will have to let me know how it is.” He shifted from foot to foot. “You, uh, aren’t going to hold this pillow fort thing over my head now, are you?”

Following her father into the lobby she couldn’t help but look around in wide eyed wonder. The palace was all she’d ever dreamed it would be and more. Sweeping stairs, elaborate decorations, polished marble, exactly what it should be. Although in truth she much preferred the warmth and homeliness of the her manor.
Coming to a halt beside her father she followed his lead, curtsying to first the king and then his son, the prince. To whom she offered a wide, untamed smile, delightful to find that while he was a prince, he looked perfectly normal like she was.
“Its been a long time old friend.” Her father laughed, clasping the kings arm now that the formal greetings where over. “May I present my daughter, Ella.”
Smiling at the King she then turned back to the prince. “Its a pleasure to meet you your highness.”
The King was clearly delighted to see his old friend and greeted his daughter with utter warmth and kindness. Charming wasn’t sure what to make of her yet. He smiled politely and looked at his father quizzically.
“This is my son, Charmont. Though most often we call him Charming.” His father laughed. “Be nice, Charming. Say hello.”
“Um. Hello, Ella. It is nice to meet you too.” He replied. “What do you like to do for fun?”

Charming laughed. “I wouldn’t wish to brag, but I am an extremely good fencer.” He replied. “Some would even go so far as to say that I am the best in the Kingdom.” He leaned back, a slight bit of arrogance seeping through. “What are you studying and training?” He asked.
A little smirk spred on Eugene’s lips. “Best in the kingdom, huh? I’d like to see a demonstration before I believe that.” He crossed his arms, ready to do his part in this unspoken competition. “I can already ride on horseback and fence. My job is to ensure security in the royal castle and the kingdom with my insider knowledge. That I aquired via absolutely legal ways, of course.”
Charming chuckled. “Of course. Perhaps we should have a little fencing match? We have a fine training room here in the castle if you want to test our skills.” He said with a cheeky grin.

While she had other chores to attend too she didn’t think that she’d get in trouble for being a bit behind seeing as it was the prince himself asking for her company. Smiling softly she nodded, making her way to one of the sofas and perching upon it. The years of being a merchants daughter kicking in, as she sat as gracefully as any lady would have. “They call me Cinderella, but you can call me Ella if you’d like Sire.”
“Ella is a beautiful name. Is Cinderella your full name? I have never heard the like.” He asked. In truth, it was a very odd name. However, he couldn’t imagine why people would call her that were it not her name.

It took her a moment to notice the work had stopped, her own thoughts preoccupied with the papers on the table before her. There was a spot that could do with an extra flourish, some kind of image to connect to separate themes. The end of her pen tapped against her chin as she considered it – but she froze when she heard her own name behind her.
It was at that moment that she finally noticed the lack of noise, the men and women around her still and staring at the source of the question. For a moment, it felt to Elsa as if her heart stopped. Image was important to royalty, especially for a queen who still read daily of her detractors and doubters. She was young, she knew that, but she tried to prove them wrong. How would this look?
Turning on her heel, she gathered up all of her bravery, pushed some hair out of her face, and did her best to put a smile on her face, even if it – like her guest’s – was a little sheepish.
“That would be me,” she called back, raising a hand in a wave. “We weren’t expecting you just yet.”
Charming let out a small breath of relief. He had been worried that everyone would continue to just stare at him in shock. He smiled and made his way closer to the Queen. Granted, she didn’t look much a queen right now, but he could tell that she was working on things.
“Yes. I’m sorry about that. The winds ended up in our favor and we made great time getting here.” He replied. “I should have thought to send a messenger ahead to let you know we would arrive early.”
He looked around at all of the work they were doing. “What all are you working on here?” He asked, impressed.

“I will try to be a good princess and eventual queen, but if I’m honest, this room is so big and grand, doesn’t it make you nervous at all?” Ella asked, “does your father request for you to come to court often?”
“I suppose my whole life I have been in rooms that are just as big and just as grand. I don’t really notice much anymore.” Charming replied. He shrugged. “He didn’t used to. But, I think that he believes that he is getting too old, and so has be requesting my presence more and more so that I may be sure to know what to do should he become unfit to rule.”

“Italy. Yeah, by boat you would be there with a snap of your fingers. If you have to walk, however… yeah, I’m not so sure. Besides, I think you first have to rest a bit before you hit the road again. You just escaped death and need some food, a good bed and some rest. Follow me, I have a place.”
“Thank you again.” Charming replied. He stumbled a little as he moved to follow her. “Food does sound really nice right about now.” He chuckled as he tried to steady his woozy self.

It appeared as though his father was going to throw another ball. The reason was something that didn’t matter much to Charming. He would still have to attend. Try though he might to find some excuse to not attend the party, none of his schemes or excuses had ever worked. He begrudgingly dressed hismelf up and attended, keeping mostly to the shadows and dark corners to avoid being pressed by women trying to win favor and become his bride.
He noticed someone else clinging to the shadows trying to avoid notice. He couldn’t remember seeing her before, but he had heard about the girl adopted by the Lord and Lady Saffron. Seeing an out to his problem of girls throwing themselves at him for attention, he made his way over to her.
“Hello there.” Charming said, smiling. “Not much for parties either?”
