iâve stopped trash talking comic sans after learning the font is actually one of the only dyslexia-friendly fonts that come standard with most computers and i advocate for others doing the same
In the event that you would like to continue hating Comic Sans, other dyslexia-friendly alternatives include Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, Century Gothic and Trebuchet.
thank
Random fact: Verdana is one of the few fonts which was specifically designed to be as easy to read as possible, even at smaller type sizes. It was designed this way for use on screen, but the same principles apply in print too. This is part of why some Universities use Verdana as their default font for documents.
âIn the event that you would like to continue hating Comic Sansâ is one of the best things Iâve ever read on this website
@pedeka @lunariagold @darklittlestories
Iâll take Comic Sans over Arial any day.Â
Century Gothic and Trebuchet are both quite handsome typefaces.
Iâm partial to Century Gothic as well. Itâs serif, but not boring.
Thereâs also a dyslexic font designed especially for dyslexic people to read.
You can install on your tablets, laptops and browers etc, so not only can you change things like documents into it, you can change websites into that font as well!Â
Iâm sure youâre bright enough to do a google search, but since Iâm dumb enough to forget to post a link, here it is. Better late than never
https://www.dyslexiefont.com/en/dyslexie-font/
I default to arial for this reason, but I will now be defaulting to verdana or dyslexie. nice.
I donât think I have dyslexia but that dyslexie font was the easiest fucking thing to read ever. Books should be written in that shit.
ALSO!!!
For computer reading, when you mix up lines of text, thereâs a web browser app called Beeline Reader. It looks like this
The colors are also customizable, to an extent and while I donât have dyslexia, I have adhd which makes reading large amounts of text harder and this helps A LOT.
This is dope. I freaking love how much more accessible this information is nowadays.
for our dyslexic ravens.
I always thought I was a decent reader, but holy crap that BeeLine made reading enjoyable lol
Beeline reader also has a built-in setting for changing the font to the OpenDyslexic font, so not only will it help with tracking via the gradient color changes, it can alter the font to help without a second app/extension. I use both together and itâs wonderful!

Witchy things to do when youâre low on spoons
As a witch with a chronic illness that can leave me extremely low on energy for weeks at a time, Iâm always looking for witchy things to do that wonât leave me exhausted. Even simple spells draw from your own energy pool so these are the things I do when my pool is running dry.
Cleansing - Â Negative energy always builds up in my space during a bout of sickness, after a good cleansing of my outer I find my inner much more positive also. Here are some easy ways to cleanse
-Light some incense -Fill a spray bottle with water (moon water would be handy for this), herbs of your choice (I usually use sage), and some salt. Then go around to each room and spray some into each corner -Cleanse yourself by taking a bath or shower and using gorgeous smelling products -Open a window and let the fresh air blow positive energy into your house
Sigils - Â When I donât have the energy for full-on spells/rituals I sit down and make some cute sigils. I try to make them specific to my situation, so when I am feeling especially down because of health issues I will make a sigil with the intent âMy health does not affect my mental stateâ or something similar. You can also
-Put a sigil on your pill bottles for a little boost (although magic is NOT a replacement for medicine and you should never completely rely on it for any health issues) -Put a sigil on your heat bags/hot water bottle -Draw them on your wrist -Draw them at the bottom of your tea mugs with honey
Beauty Products - Â Being stuck in bed feeling like death himself can make me feel, well, not awesome appearance wise. I found making myself feel nice on the outside can help my moral SO MUCH. I donât mean you have to get up and put on a full face of make-up, but these little things can make a big difference
-Rosehip oil spray. It smells amazing, has many magical benefits including health and feeling calm and sensual, and is super refreshing with the added bonus of being rly good for your skin -Scented lip balm for when your lips are feeling dry and sore eg I have pomegranate lip balm for when I want to make an offering to Persephone but have absolutely no energy. They come in sooo many flavors and scents, just pick which ones resonate with what you need! -Perfume/essential oils. Just use a scent that corresponds with what you would like to do, like tea tree oil for health or lavender for relaxation. Also, smell pretty=feel pretty.
Prayers - Â It can be hard keeping up appearances to the Gods when you have no energy so every night before bed, or generally whenever I feel like it, I say a little prayer. Of course if you are a secular witch you could just take some time to appreciate the things in nature/your life that makes it magical.
Tea - Â Itâs so nice having a soothing hot drink when your throat feels like a huge cluster of quartz has gotten stuck in there. There are so many posts out there about magical uses for tea but here is a coupleÂ
-Adding herbs for intent -Leaving a crystal in your mug overnight so your mug and tea is charged with intent -Blowing away the steam and visualize blowing away negative energy
Get to know your crystals - Lets be honest, I have so many crystals Iâve forgotten what half of them are. I like taking them out and surrounding myself with them and then picking them up one by one and focusing on its energy to re-connect. This takes barely any of my energy as I can do it in bed, and makes me feel warm and fuzzy seeing all my pretties in front of me.
Read/Study - This is what I spend the majority of my time doing. There is ALWAYS more to learn about witchcraft and I can do it while lying down. There are so many free witchy book pdfs on tumblr as well, just remember not to believe everything you read.
Witchy Crafts - This one could take a little more spoons than the others, but itâs super gratifying. To find some things to do you can scroll through the tumblr tag âwitch diyâ. Some things I have done areÂ
-Sewed cute tarot bags to hold my cards -Used thick cotton to make my own little necklace crystal holder -Bought gemstone beads and made my own jewelry
Visualization - This is in my opinion the foundation of all spells and a lot of the time I donât even use any other ingredients because that takes too much energy. I just focus on my intent and chant a little bit or sing and let the spell come to light all through visualizing it. I have charmed items, helped my plants grow and a lot more this way. I also like to visualize myself in a beautiful, flower-filled forest and feel the sun/moon pulling dark clouds of negative energy/illness out of my body to help when iâm feeling particularly unwell.
Meditation - My favorite spoonie witchy thing to do. It calms you, cleanses you, broadens your mind and senses and helps me personally deal with any pain caused by my illness. It can be done at any time and you really feel recharged afterwards. You can even light some candles, light some incense, sit outside under the moon, so many things.
So these are all I can think of right now, feel free to add on so we can all help each other out! Much love to every one of you đ
-Auoria
I like many of these things but
Please remember not to use essential oils (especially as perfume) unless you are fully trained in their use.
so niceđ

Witchcraft does not try to invalidate science.
I often receive anonymous messages online (which I usually delete) saying that Iâm a âspecial snowflakeâ who is just trying to escape reality. Or that witchcraft is fake because it breaks the laws of science.
Now, Iâm working towards my engineering degree. When I was six I went up to my parents and said, âSanta Claus isnât real. None of those are other things are, too. Itâs impossible.â (Sorry kids). Trust me, magic and witchcraft are not trying to ignore the laws of the universe.
Witchcraft is a spiritual practice, an exploration into the unknown. We, as humans, will never be able to explain everything in our universe. Phenomena can occur repeatedly and still be deemed unexplainable by science. And once we find the answer to one question, we are only left to face those newly arisen.
For me, witchcraft is a way to escape that side of my humanity. Magic is how I stop asking âWhy?â and begin to appreciate the wonders surrounding us. One of my favorite ways Iâve heard it being described is as âinteractive prayerâ. Now, Iâm not religious, but it is a way for me to work with the unexplainable energies of nature and the universe in a way the science I so dearly love cannot. (And, yes, you can be a witch and be athiest/agnostic. However, thatâs a subject for another post.) Magic is freedom of expression, a way for me to declutter my mind and appreciate the parts of it I rarely use in my line of study.
Witchcraft is also a way for me to connect with nature. I am usually surrounded by computers, walls, and electric lights. Witchcraft is how I dedicate part of my day to the natural world. Maybe some of those natural energies do have certain effects on my life; maybe some rituals and spells are truly world hanging. Throughout our lives we will encounter things that science cannot explain, and, to me, witchcraft is a method to connect with them.
Science canât explain everything, and neither can magic. However, magic does allow me to appreciate and develop an understanding with the mysteries of the universe we cannot yet grasp. Now, that I believe is truly meaningful.
I like the idea of witchcraft as âinteractive prayer.â Personally, Iâve sort of called it âritualized prayerâ or âritualized goal-setting.â In either case, the rituals of my craft help me be intentional about setting and reaching personal goals. Whether itâs to develop a little spell to help me have the confidence to approach a difficult topic with someone, or to manifest peace in my life, engaging the creating of a spell is like making a plan to reach those goals. Whether a spell involves finding the corresponding herbs, meditating with particular crystals, or doing a tarot reading, researching for a spell involves recognizing the skills and attributes Iâll need to reach that goal (ex, peace: banishing negativity, attracting positivity, letting go, relaxation, mindfulness, etc.), which lays the groundwork for me to actually reach it. Regardless of that science says about magic, there is magic in being intentional and mindful with your life. If witchcraft helps you reach your goals, then donât worry about science and so mote it be!!
