Where do I Begin?
One of the most common questions I receive is, “Aesh, I’ve looked into the craft and I feel called! But I don’t know where to begin. Where do I start?”
If you are reading this, there is a good chance that you also have this very question milling around in your head.
Well, I have great news for you.
That is what this lesson is about.
The definition of Witchcraft is not a definitive one. Dictionary.com defines witchcraft as “the art or practices of a witch; sorcery; magic,” however, you will not find any two witches with the same exact definition. It is in this Witch’s opinion that the definition of Witchcraft is the “art of manipulating the energy around you to achieve a goal.”
So, doesn’t it make sense that before you manipulate that energy, you must be able to sense it. To quote a cliche, you learn to crawl before you walk, you must be able to crack an egg before making a cake, etc. etc.
So, how do you gain the ability to sense the energy around you? The answer is inside you. Literally. Every being has the capability of sensing and even recognizing energy. It just (usually) takes a little training and time to actively do it. Some examples of this would be that feeling of being watched in an area that has spirits frequenting it or when someone is staring at you, and the feeling of the veils being thin while in a forest by yourself and suddenly everything goes quiet.
Homework - Meditation
The easiest way to enhance your ability to sense the energy around you is regular meditation. Don’t let pop culture fool you- it’s more than just sitting cross-legged, still as possible in the quiet, saying “Ohm” every few seconds. In fact, there are many different ways to meditate.
Exercise #1.1- Things to do to start meditation
Make a list of things that are mind-numbing to you. For some people, including myself, going on a walk or hike is very mind-numbing. Some other examples are doing chores, listening to music, cooking, biking (not recommended), or even just engaging in art such as painting or sketching. Yes, sitting alone in a room also works.
Exercise #1.2- The actual meditation
Choose one of your mind numbing activities and make time to engage in it alone. If you are going walking or hiking, please try to stay aware of your surroundings and always let someone know where you are going. In fact, in these situations, bringing a quiet companion is recommended.
Take 3 deep breaths and begin your mind-numbing activity.
As you begin, allow your senses to reach out.
Take note of each, taking a deep breath between each one:
What do you see?
What do you feel?
What do you hear?
What are you touching?
What do you smell?
What do you taste?
If you find a thought wandering in, do not try to immediately banish it. Acknowledge it and let it pass. Start from the beginning again.
If you are finding yourself getting frustrated, stop, take 3 deep breaths, and allow the frustration to pass naturally. Do not try to force it away.
Repeat 3 times.
Making Your Room Magical
Hi everyone! So, I’ve mentioned before that there are a million different ways to incorporate magic into your every day life. I think that making magic part of your everyday routine is important, but you can also add a magical boost to your bedroom! Here are some ideas for making your room magical. Enjoy!
The Bed:
Draw sigils on the bed frame (maybe underneath the bed so that it’s out of sight) for good sleep or to ward off nightmares (or to add a little extra spice for when you bring guys from the bar home…I don’t judge.)
Or you could stitch sigils into your pillow case or sheets instead.
When you lay down to go to sleep, create a big energetic shield around your bed to protect you while you sleep
The Windows:
Enchant your curtains/shutters/blinds to keep out prying eyes
Place tarot cards, crystals, and other tools on the window sill to let them charge with the power of the moon/sun.
Open up the windows every once in a while to release all of the excess and negative energy out of your room and into the air.
The Carpet:
Make cleansing “floor washes” for your carpet by making a powder with herbs and baking soda. Sprinkle it over the carpet and vacuum to remove. If you have wood floors in your room, you can make a liquid floor wash instead.
The Shelves, Side Tables, etc.
Create a small altar on top of a shelf, side table, or other surface in your room. It can be to honor the deities that you worship, or it can be for something else like drawing in prosperity or good fortune.
Dedicate shelves to different purposes by anointing them with different magical oils.
The Walls:
Magically program the walls with protective energy, like a giant shield around the entire room
Enchant posters or paintings of people/celebrities/etc to watch over the room or give the room a certain desired vibe.
Create a “vision board” with pictures of things that you would like to have in the future (vacation destinations, dream jobs/houses, etc). Every time you look at it, send some energy into it. Over time, the build up of energy will help draw those things to you.
The Closet:
Write down things that you would like to keep secret from the world or things that you would like people to not notice. Hide the pieces of paper in the closet to hide them from the world like “skeletons in the closet”.
Charge your favorite clothes to help bring confidence, motivation etc. to you when you wear them.
These are just some ideas that you can play around with to keep magic alive in your everyday life :) If you have any questions, feel free to send me an ask. Thanks for reading,
Livi

Everyday Witchuals to do with/for a cat
Bonding to little fluffs can be very grounding and meditative. Here are some of my favorite little things to do for my favorite little things!
With a highly vibrational crystal (selenite, blue kyanite, blue celestite) in your hand, pet your cat. When they begin to purr, visualize the flow of energy between the rumble of your kitty and the rumble of the mineral.
Leave an offering of catnip on your patio for neighborhood cats.
Create a small (not sharp!) crystal grid on a perch area where kitty lays often.
Make quartz gem elixirs or moonwater to add to kitty’s water dish, or set a similar water dish out for neighborhood cats.
Drink your coffee/eat your breakfast at the same time as your cat eats. Be present as you commune together, accepting nourishment from the earth simultaneously.
Let your cat pick a tarot card (or a few!) to read for yourself.
Draw or stitch a sigil onto their collar for protection.
Charge their dry food in a clear jar by setting it on a windowsill under a full moon or setting citrine crystals on top of the lid for 12 hours. Say a blessing when pouring it into their dish.
Enjoy 🔮🐱🐈
Tips on Grimoire Organization
Please note that if you are using a hard bound notebook or journal, adding in additional pages will bulk up your book, like so: (these are the exact same journals, btw)
- Envelopes. Let’s say you’re doing a section on Tarot in your Grimoire, and you want to include a few Tarot spreads, but you don’t want to waste two or three pages. Glue an envelope onto one of your pages to make a “pocket” where you can store little cards or papers with the tarot spreads written on them.
- Pockets. Similar to the envelope idea. If you have a page, or section for example, on herbal teas, you can make a pocket out of a piece of paper to keep your current favorite tea recipes in.
- Dividers, Cover Pages and Ribbons. If you’re like me and you like to have “sections” in your grimoire, you can easily make dividers by gluing a sheet of paper in your book (to make it heavier to make the sections stand out more). You can go further by turning your divider into a cover page for that section. And if you don’t like the idea doing that, you can always glue a ribbon, or a string, to the spine of your book to act as a bookmark.
- Double pages. I always had a problem with “wasting” pages in my grimoire. For example, my page on consecrating and charging. These two concepts are very similar to me, and I didn’t want two page stating the same thing. So, what I did was write out all my information on charging on a separate sheet of paper, then glued the top of that page into my grimoire. This way I could flip up the page on charging (as if it were on a clipboard) and have my page on consecrating underneath.
- Extended pages. Similar to the one above. In my Crystal section of my Grimoire, I decided to write out a chart that let me search for crystals by intention. So I drew my chart on a long sheet of paper, then folded it over (side to side) so that it fit comfortably in my book, then I just glued one side down into the book.
- Brochures. In my Elements section, I had a ton of information I wanted to write down, but I didn’t want each element to have more than two pages. So I used a piece of computer paper and folded it into a brochure (or into thirds) and glued it into the book so that the flaps would open and give me double the space to write.
- Clear Tape. There are many times where i finished a page in my grimoire only to find out there was a section that I left out. A simply way to fix this was with clear tape. I would write my forgotten bit of into on a separate piece of paper and then use clear tape to tape one side of the paper to my page. This allows me to flip the paper back and forth without covering up anything that I had written.

~10 Kinds Of Magical Books~
1. Book Of Shadows- A witch’s book of spells, rituals, personal feelings, etc. It is a general book for any metaphysical or religious information that you wish to put into it, among other things.
2.Bestiary- A sometimes hand-written encyclopedia or manual of mythological and magical creatures and beings, used for reference when you want to work with a non-human energy, or for general research.
3.Grimoire- Usually filled with tables and charts, lists relating to astrological, numerical, and color correspondences; properties of crystals, herbs, trees, etc. Contains moon phase meanings and medicinal properties of plants- This one has an old-timey textbook feel to it, usually.
4.Book Of Mirrors- a special journal, where you ‘reflect’ on things going on in your day to day life, providing deep insights which are invaluable when you’re doing work regarding personal growth. Very helpful with developing personal spiritual philosophies.
5.Book Of Moons- A book entirely relating to the moon and it’s cycles, names of the moons of each month, their attributes and energies, dates of lunar eclipses as well as full moon dates of upcoming moons. Filled with vast knowledge of lunar attributes and special dates of red moons, blue moons, etc.
6.Dream Journal- Here you record the dreams you have in as much detail as you can remember, and some people draw images from their dream adventures in this book as well, since dreams use the language of symbolism and imagery. You interpret the meanings of your dreams in here too, if you wish. Dreams can help us get a glimpse into our subconscious and the more dreams you write the easier it becomes for you to remember them.
7. Book of Visions- A vision book is used with the law of attraction, it is a ‘vision board’ in book form. Put different images of things you want in life, be they experiences, physical items, money, health, etc, in the pages of the book. Open the book up to pictures of what you want to visualize having. Think of this as an on-the-go vision board, except with much more space as there are so many pages!
8.Book Of Positive Aspects- At the top of each page you write the name of a topic that you are unhappy with, like ‘the workplace’ for example. Below the topic title you begin listing all the positive aspects of the subject, and by the end of your list your emotions will be in a much better place regarding the topic. You can do a list a day or many in one sitting, it is a valuable tool for cultivating positive energy or for switching viewpoints on things that normally would upset you.
9.Gratitude Journal- A book where you write about EVERYTHING you are thankful and appreciative for in your life right now. You feel overwhelmed with love and positivity when writing in this book, which aids you in raising your vibration and frequency.
10. Book Of Intuitions- a psychic journal, it’s a book where all divination and psychic exercises are recorded, ranging from full tarot spreads, to tea leaf readings, even psychic impressions you pick up off people. It’s handy for tracking progress as well as for record keeping.

What would your followers leave as offerings for you if you were a deity?
Make a tarot card out of old newspaper pictures
Write a spell using the most ridiculous objects you can think off
Create a mythical creature that would be your familiar
Binding someone’s mouth.
objective: to make it someone can’t talk about you, too you, or at all depending on what you want. This can be with a real physical poppet, but it can also be done as a quick visualization in your head. It has been effective for me done both ways.
Get a poppet to represent the person you are binding. It’s better to make it yourself and fill it with things that represent/symbolize that person to make it more personal to them.
Put red thread on a sewing needle and start sewing the mouth of a doll. Chant, “Open lips say too much. So i seal your mouth; I bind it shut.”
Tie off the thread at the end of the mouth. Hide the poppet away somewhere it won’t be bothered or messed with.
To remove the binding cut the thread from the poppet’s mouth.

Druids believed that bees represented the sun, the Goddess, celebration, and community.
The Greeks thought that a babies whose lips where touched by a bee would become a great poet or a great speaker. In ancient Greece it was also thought that they symbolized industry, hard work, messengers of the dead, and obedience. Honey was often used as an offering to their Gods. They also believed bees were the surviving souls of the priestesses who served the Goddess Aphrodite.
They have been seen as a symbol of sacredness and could be associated with the Great Mother or Divine feminine. The Mother can be symbolized as the queen bee.
In Celtic mythology honey bees had great wisdom and thought to be messengers between worlds. Honey was sacred and used in rituals.

Bees are closely associated with the fae and their presence in gardens which indicates blessings of fae. Encourage the bees, by putting up bee houses, hives, planting bee-friendly plants and waterers and not using pesticides. Thus, encouraging the blessings from the fae, while harming bees can anger them and cause them to seek revenge.
The symbol of a bee can be used to seal a spell with sweetness for one who appreciates good will and a sting for one who takes it for granted or doesn’t keep his end of the bargain.
Honey stirred into your tea can ‘sweeten’ your day.
Honey is used often in magick to sweeten a situation.
Anointing your lips with honey will make your words sound sweeter.
Bees in your dreams:
May be a good omen.
Bees in your dreams may be telling you to take a look at your social networks. They may be pointing toward a desire for more harmonious and functional relationships, or celebrating the ones you already have.
A visit from a bee in a dream may also be notifying you that a friend or family member needs to speak with you. You will know as this person will also pop into your mind somehow. It means call them or perhaps, that you will hear from them soon.
Dreaming of a beehive usually relates to the home and family or your business and coworkers. A happy, buzzing hive means a happy, buzzing home. It may foretell incoming abundance, and fruitful times ahead. If the bees are swarming around the hive, rather than working in it, proceed with caution. There is a lack of harmony that is interfering with productivity.
A swarm of bees may indicate that you feel that a group of people upon whose cooperation you rely is becoming chaotic and out of control. Perhaps the need to balance your own interactions with your different business and social groups for your own sanity.
Beehives bring to mind abundance and prosperity: bees seem to work hard and are rewarded by flowing stores of honey. An empty beehive, then, represents the opposite: lost opportunity and financial misfortune.
A beehive can also represent a home. The fullness or emptiness of the beehive may indicate unconscious feelings about family life, marriage, children, or the house itself. Honey may represent your property or belongings.
A beehive on fire or burned bees are often interpreted depending on your emotional and physical condition. Burned bees may mean you are overcoming fear and want to take control of life and anger, are you’re progressing through life with more confidence without any fear of obstacles. Burned beehives can also mean you have lost something precious, like money, a relationship, or some valuable information that you’ve forgotten or ignored.
If a bee or a swarm of bees is chasing you in dream, it may mean there is some unsettled business or a memory that haunts you. Make sure you let it go from your mind or deal with it in order to avoid these bees.
If you dream about getting a bee sting then something may be bothering you, or you have a persistent annoyance in your life. Concerns about your relationship, career, finance, or some unknown issue is bugging your subconscious mind. Find out what it is and sort it out.
Magickal uses for Honey:
Can be used in binding spells to symbolically stick things together.
Used for offerings to fae and deities.
Can sweeten a person or a situation.
Honey is sacred to Aphrodite.
Can be used in spells corresponding to purification, health, love, happiness, spirituality, wisdom, good fortune, fertility,
Use certain types of honey that corresponded with your spell.
Bathe in warm water and honey to attract love.
A dish filled with honey can attract angels and beneficial spirits.

Twelve Olympians Spread
I was playing around with my deck today and came up with this… Sharing it to see if anyone else finds it useful. The Twelve Olympians each represent an important factor in your personal life. Using twelve cards, one for each Olympian, you can get a detailed reading with this spread.
Card 1: Hestia. In Hellenismos, Hestia is honored first and last, as the oldest and youngest child of Kronos, and is introduced first here. Hestia’s domain is the home and this card queries the Goddess and asks what is coming in terms of your home life.
Card 2: Zeus. As the primary male figure in Hellenismos, Zeus here stands for your relationships with men and what may be coming with male figures in your life. This could be anyone from a father to a lover.
Card 3: Hera. As her brother-husband stands for the men in your life, so does the Queen of the Gods stand for the women in your life. What is in your future with women? Hera will let you know.
Card 4: Demeter. Demeter here stands for your material gains and your earthly wealth. Anything for which you work hard to gain, that is what Demeter will reveal to you.
Card 5: Poseidon. The Sea God’s card pulls on the constant generation that the sea, the source of almost all life, allows. This card is about what is growing from the source in your life, and what is going to manifest itself in your life as a new thing. This is the unknown becoming known.
Card 6: Artemis. The card of Artemis is a mystery being revealed to you. Something that you have been hunting and wondering about is made clear with this card. Differing from Poseidon, this is something known becoming familiar.
Card 7: Apollon. Apollon Παιαν, the Healer, gives you information about health with this card. If there are no concerns in your own life, the Healing God may help others through you.
Card 8: Athena. Wise Athena speaks of knowledge and understanding of the world of book-learning. Her sage counsel advises you with wisdom that you need for whatever situation you approach.
Card 9: Hermes. The Messenger God stands for all money matters. Be it related to a job, money you already have, or a random lotto victory, the Trickster’s Guardian gives you advice on how to deal with your fiscal life.
Card 10: Aphrodite. Here, the Goddess of Love stands for all romantic relationships. The future and fate of your romantic life is revealed at Aphrodite’s whim.
Card 11: Hephaistos. The Crafting God of the Glowing Forge, Hephaistos tells you what you can make in your life. Not content to sit back and let things come to him, the Sooty One brings his dreams to life. What will you find that you can bring to life as well?
Card 12: Ares. The God of War asks you to look at any conflicts you have in your life, be it with yourself or with another person. How can these conflicts be resolved for the betterment of all involved? Ares gives you advice on this matter.
Feedback on any use of this spread would be wonderful! May the Gods bless your endeavors!
