Marvin Goldman's contract film lab is a target for arson. But luckily, the film storage room is airtight and Marvin smothers the fire by closing the door. The Angels are hired by his mother to find out why. Marvin is a reluctant client, though.

While following up on the lab results at the police station, Jill gets chatted up by the hotshot deputy district attorney with the perfect conviction rate. This gets her two dates, the second of which has her in a dreamy white dress. Luckily, she is still able to move in that dress when she gets shot at after the date.

Sabrina first shares film watch duty with Kelly, before she veres off with Bosley to talk to Marvin's silent partners, who deny ever having heard of him.

Kelly get stuck with watching all the disjointed film rolls. After meeting a very mature Little Boo Peek on the way to the sound stage once too often, Kelly puts two and two together and uses her best Texan accent on the director to find proof for her suspicion for what kind of films are made there.

I could analyze the heck out of this episode. Bree trying to find a neutral wording for Marvin's most objectionable source of income, their shock about his adult film production - that's not the one Bree minces words about - and the very clear stance on who is the most objectionable person in the case. Guess who.

We get only their reaction shots when Bos, Kelly, Bree and Jill watch the adult movies. The mixture of discomfort, disbelief and "holy shit our client is breaking the law wtf should we do now?!?" is really great.

Jill has no luck with the guys bc she stand by her values.

I like it. A lot.

And old (white male) police friend of Charlie's gets in trouble for manhandling a suspect who came up clean (bc he'd put the jewels he stole in the post).

The suspect, Roy David, is a compulsive gambler who steals to feed the - large scale- habit.

To catch him, the Angels conspire to cheat him out of his money and provide him with a plan to steal once he's broke.

Featuring Jill both as the ditzi eye-candy to Bosley's sugar-daddy Texan drawl and the gambling beauty who for once seems more interested in staking out a gambling club than flirting with the nice perp. And being distracted is a dangerous stunt.

Sabrina lets herself be blackmailed into providing racing tipps with Bosley as the hapless ever-loosing bookie.

Kelly mostly works in the background until she crashes into the perp.

Gayest Moment:

The Angels exchanging glances when the perp is caught.

Imagine a version of the roller-coaster murder case where everything is exactly the same except someone else is the one to bring up that a woman wouldn't have the strength to decapitate someone with a kitchen knife and Shinichi has an internal moment of "what? No a woman is absolutely strong enough to-" then he glances at Ran and reminds himself that she’s not the norm. It just proceeds as normal from there.

what did Joren did that we didn't see? Yes he's a dickass to Kel and her group with a harassment campaign against them, but what was the final straw for the Chamber? Vincent was a rapist and allowed to live. He had to confess and feel every bit of harm he did to each of his victims, so what did Joren do? Yuki mentioned going to see out of curiosity, and that all the hope was gone from his face, was he too prideful to admit that he fucked up? Or did the Chamber have no plans on releasing him alive even if he did confess?

Joren's uncle charging after Kel and blaming her came after, but what we see really doesn't show how the Chamber broke him. Unless Vincent getting punishment by the Chamber got him scared? The rest of Joren's cronies survived, but they may have simply been followers, with Joren as the leader and Vincent as the second in command

Unless the Chamber went "you were a jackass to my pawn girl, and the leader of the group. You can die now" and because this was from Kel's point of view, we never saw what happened. Somehow, I wouldn't be surprised to find out there's a fic about this. I believe I have something on my old iPad, but I need to find an old-style charge cable for it

I suspect Pierce though everything she could provid would pale against what a reader's phantasy could call up.

I personally think he died bc he couldn't take losing, couldn't live with the idea to not be top dog. And then the chamber just shrugged "if you'd rather die,..."
