@pro-heroes-month is this month and I’m really excited! I’m going to try and do catch up so here’s Day 1: Firsts. I wanted to do a list of headcanons of ‘first getting to know each other’ for some iconic duos and groups!
They went to UA together and were in the same heroics class.
Endeavor was a little less volatile when he was younger, but from the start disliked the perpetually sunny and talented All Might after he placed first in their Quirk Apprehension Test, and constantly looked for ways to best him.
That being said, All Might wanted to be friends and enjoyed the competition as Endeavor was the only one close to his level.
So they teamed up a lot for exercises, even as Endeavor complained the entire time. They always came out on top.
Despite Endeavor’s aggression towards All Might he liked him more than the rest of the class, believing they weren’t trying hard enough to be the best possible. So as much as Endeavor was capable of they were 'friends’.
Unfortunately as they aged and graduated the competition became worse and more one-sided, despite All Might’s best efforts to be amicable.
Eraserhead and Present Mic
Aizawa didn’t make it into the heroics course through the entrance exam, but he placed first in the sports festival and was transferred from the Gen Ed class.
He beat Mic to get first place, leaving Mic at second.
People were clearly upset that a Gen Ed student made them all look bad, and with Aizawa’s aloof demeanor that put them off even more. Not Mic though, he was determined to befriend the transfer student.
They were seated next to each other and after just constant heckling and chatting him up, Aizawa eventually warmed up to Mic and cling to him like a lifeline.
Aizawa won’t readily admit it but after 15 years there’s no arguing Mic is his best friend. They do pretty much everything outside of work together.
Mt.Lady stole his victory against the giant villain at the beginning of the story, but Kamui Woods is respectful and polite so he didn’t approach her about it like other hotheaded heroes would.
In between then and when they we hired to do security for the UA sports festival, she stole another victory from under his nose. She didn’t go to his face to brag, but she did wink when he was leaving the scene as she was dealing with the police.
There was an incident where she wasn’t able to help due to her quirk keeping her from gaining entrance to the area so Kamui Woods handled it. Mt.Lady apologized for not being able to help and stealing his victories before; he brushed it off and the two ended up agreeing to work together.
When Kamui Woods was approached for the Raid he suggested Mt.Lady and she was invited too.
When Edgeshot proposed they make a hero group together Mt.Lady was ecstatic to work with Kamui and someone in the Top 10 (then Kamui made the Top 10 as well and she was happy for him but disappointed she didn’t make it too).
All Might and Sir Nighteye
Sir Nighteye approached All Might begging to be his side kick, eventually winning his favor.
All Might felt a little strange having a side kick, especially one that was a huge fanboy, but quickly warmed up to having someone cover his back.
All Might would sometimes be overwhelmed by how supportive and diligent Nighteye was.
Nighteye did all the paperwork, and would secretly redo the ones All Might tried to do because he wasn’t as good at it, but wouldn’t ever tell All Might he did or shame him for not being as efficient.
Sir Nighteye was much weaker when he first joined All Might’s side, and even though he never beefed up like All Might did, he became stronger through his help.
The two were an odd sight when out together given their very different appearances/costumes.
The Wild Wild Pussycats (Pixie Bob, Mandalay, Ragdoll, Tiger)
They all went to school together and meet in high school.
Each one wore a cat themed item the first day of classes; Pixie Bob had a paw print hair clip, Mandalay had a black cat charm bracelet, Ragdoll had her hair tied up with a ribbon that had cat silhouettes on it, and Tiger wore a cat tail. Immediately they all bonded over love for cats.
Tiger came out to the other three early on about being a trans man, and the three girls were incredibly supportive and always helped advocate his pronouns when people got it wrong.
They frequented the cat cafe closest to school.
One time they found a box of stray kittens but only Ragdoll was able to take them home. They put up flyers for adoption, and the three that didn’t get taken she kept
They all talked about starting a group and finally did after college.
She was a year ahead at UA, and just kind of latched onto Aizawa at one point. He doesn’t really remember or know why.
Midnight had a reputation of being flirty and bold in high school, and people wondered if the two of them were dating, but they always had more of a sibling dynamic.
Midnight would joke about using her quirk to help Aizawa sleep, but it was pointless since he never had trouble conking out.
She always would nag at him about his health and diet, and he’d always make fun of her for nagging and being 'such a mom.’
Whenever he needs help with some creative activity or an exercise for his class she’s the first he seeks out.
This is all I can think of right now, but I might write up more later!
