@nocandnc, tumblr ate my response to your ask, but here’s my answer.
Hi there ^^
I’m kind of an old Slayers fan, but only recently started getting into the online fandom side of things - anyhoo, I just wanted to say I absolutely adore your Xelfi fics!! They’ve always been my favourite pair since before I knew what shipping was, and the way you write their dynamic is just perfect imo. Every piece I read is like getting a serotonin injection lol
So, thank you for continuing to create content for them, and the series in general!!
Awww thanks! They’ve been my OTP for so long so that means a lot <3
@nocandnc replied to your post “The frontis page for chapter 77 has Chihiro and Yugami having some fun...”
This page was really fun!! I couldn't really grasp what he meant in regards to Chihiro either... saying she has something fluffy like cotton spilling out of her sounds cute at a glance, but the more you think about it the more bizarre it is..... Could he mean she's unfulfilled? Or that she's always spilling her guts out? No matter the case I just end up thinking, 'yeah, seems like something he'd say' >.> Chihiro meanwhile is being pretty playful. She's really grown ^^
It does sound cute at first. Kind of like saying she’s got a soft personality and it just wafts out and puts a person at ease -- or something like that.
But this is Yugami so he’s bound to say something kind of insulting. I also thought maybe he’s saying she’s naive and unguarded -- as in the reason her cotton’s spilling out is because she’s full of openings/vulnerabilities. Yugami implicitly compared her to the extinct Steller’s sea cow before, which, in his view, died off because they were naive and soft-hearted creatures who left themselves open to attacks from hunters and never fought back.
Or Yugami could just be trying to tell a joke and it’s not landing because his jokes never seem to land for some reason.
Happy to find a Djoser lover, then! It's exactly as you said! Seriously, I grew quite attached to every character of Im! And there are so many things to still discover. But let Djoser have a good ending, he deserved nothing that happened to him! So, here in France, the volume 9 will be out at the beginning of next month and I really cannot wait because of the end of volume 8. Uuuuh so long... But yes, I can assure you the next volume is worth it! I have nobody to talk about Im here so I ramble;;
Already volume 9?! You’re seriously so lucky! As you’ve seen, I read the english edition by Yen Press. In my homeland, which is Germany by the way (so hello, neighbor!), Im was just licensed and the 1st volume is scheduled for autumn/winter 2018. This gives me the chance to finally get the paperbacks and put them in my shelf because Yen Press (unfortunately) publishes the volumes as digital-only :(
Let’s establish the Djoser-deserves-better-squad! (Okay, that name could be better… I’m open for suggestions…) Hinome of course will be our squad leader XD Also, I know someone else who’s not only a Djoser lover but reads the volumes in japanese. @nocandnc, this is your call! ^3^
We usually chat via twitter, though.

Noooo, I forgot to answer this one but I was gonna make a joke about cooking fries in the dryer…
You can still make the joke. :D
@nocandnc replied to your post: “Also lol at Chihiro declaring in front of all her classmates that...”
I can never guess where this series will go each chapter @.@
Same but that’s why I love it. It’s just so off-kilter and unconventional. I never really know how Yugami and Chihiro are going to react to certain events but when they do, it always makes sense for their characters and yet it’s also not what I’d expect at all.
Chihiro is easier to read generally since she’s the narrator but Yugami is a wild card.
@nocandnc replied to your post “hi re: hayashiyama since i cant speak japanese would you be able to...”
About how it was resolved - I believe after winning the baseball match Hayashiyama got really popular with the girls at his school and was no longer interested in Chihiro >.>
Oh, I meant I didn’t mention how it got resolved in my reply, but, yeah, might as well elaborate on this!
Hayashiyama’s team won the spring tournament and he finally felt a sense of fulfillment and purpose because of all the praise he got from the people around him, strangers included. He wanted to answer their expectations of him (fangirls from other schools included!) and came to the realization (or conclusion) that when it came to Chihiro, he only ever thought about not embarrassing himself in front of her and didn’t ever come to know her properly.
So he apologizes to Chihiro and rescinds the bet, saying he can no longer be with a single person...because he belongs to the people now.
And then he walks off with his groupies as Chihiro can only gawk.
(Rio: Oh my, what’s wrong? That’s a really funny face you’re making. A lady shouldn’t be wearing such an expression.)

Do the flowers grow and die with her hair, or is the lifespan accelerated/deterred based on willpower
UHHH we were just talking about this actually LOL but i think they’d die after a few minutes, kinda like the deer god in Princess Mononoke
so i think it’d depend on the intensity of the emotions
and Amber (they have so many great ideas omg) did suggest that if she sits down, a fairy ring of flowers would grow around her, and if she’s sad that nearby plants would grow and try to comfort her
