DOCTOR WHO | Dark Water
"Clara Oswald doesn't have any friends because she doesn't exist as a person outside of the Doctor." Clara doesn't have any friends because there's something wrong with her and she's incapable of forming strong relationships without immediately getting weird about it. This is a thing to love about her
clara ‘NOT WITH ME! die with whoever comes after me you do not leave me!’ oswald is fucking crazy. genuinely batshit crazy. there are rules / so break them! if you love me in any way, you’ll come back! genuinely she’s crazy and it’s like. yeah. you can see why missy picked her out. if clara asked the doctor would burn the universe. and the thing is there’s plenty potential that clara would, in fact, ask. because she’s crazy
The thing about Clara's crashout in the s8 finale is that she didn't do all that simply because she was grieving. She didn't threat the Doctor just because she needed her boyfriend back that badly. It was rather because Danny's death reminded her that she was only human, and she did not appreciate that realisation. Although Clara was always in touch with her own humanity, her time with the Doctor rendered her detached from from the mundanity of human life. I mean, she was THE companion to a god-like alien who was also the only person in the world whom she felt truly akin to, and just by being with him she played a huge role in his own magic life which gave her the notion that she was not like other people, that she was as otherworldly as the alien she accompanied through time and space. So when her human boyfriend simply dies by a random car accident it's a huge blow to her own conceit. She's larger than life, right? She shouldn't experience loss like that, people around her weren't supposed to die in such an ordinary way. Thus her own sense of otherworldliness along with her guilt over her past emotional infidelity resulted in the messed up state of mind that saw fit to threaten the Doctor –a very powerful being and the person she loved the most– with taking away the most important thing in his life. Her actions were a desperate attempt to regain control over the situation, because if Danny's death was an uncomfortable reminder of her vulnerability as a human being, then she would turn things around and get the upper hand through magic. She was not limited like other humans, after all.
if Danny had died in a different way, say, a sort of death that is all dramatic and mythical, she would have never done all that. If he had died while fighting off monsters or making a grand sacrifice to save humanity (as he eventually did!) then it would've been just right, just fitting for the kind of life Clara lived and for how she perceived herself. She could cope with losing him, what she could not cope with was being bluntly reminded of the boringness and fragility of human life.
the doctor subconsciously choosing a face that shows who he truly is for his twelfth regeneration… then clara teaching this regeneration of his how to show empathy… clara learning to see past his older appearance and mean facade… twelve’s tardis redecoration incorporating bookshelves like a library as if to accommodate clara… there are beauty & the beast parallels everywhere for those with the eyes to see
(Lesbian OP) "women are more attractive than men"
(The replies)
"Hey, I'm a man and this hurt me worse than anything else in the world. My wife left me this morning and this post was my final straw. I'm standing in my bathtub right now with a pistol in my mouth and it's your fault you bitch. You bitch. You cunt bitch"
"Aaaaand this right here is why everyone hates lesbians."
"What about trans men????? You're saying you hate trans men??? You're saying you want all trans men to kill themselves??????????"
"Hey op this is a lil uhhh....yikes! Just a reminder from your friendly neighborhood Cheese Goblin™️ that people of ALL genders and sexual orientations are attractive. MEN ARE VALID. MEN ARE BEAUTIFUL. MEN ARE LOVED. Sexism towards men will NEVER be okay, and if you disagree you can fuck right off *gif from Good Omens*

do you think a susan twist copy has ever interacted with a clara oswald echo as they unconsciously battled for dominance along the strands of the doctor’s twisted timestream and despite both of them believing themselves to be ordinary humans with normal lives they looked into each other’s eyes and felt a glimmer of uncanny recollection of horrors yet to come
The army really asked "Hey, what do you think would fit the aesthetic of employing vulnerable teenagers to risk their lives over a nefarious goal they don't even know, I'm asking because we want to set up a recruiting event at the Anime Con".
Then some PR lackey was like, "you won't believe it I know the exact show"
okay. i was confused during this one scene because i felt like the background music was way too familiar for me.
and then it hit me. i've watched season 9 god knows how many times.
