The first pride was a riot, more specifically a riot against police violence. Trans women like Miss Major and other people of colour paved the way for the celebration of pride today. You cannot celebrate your pride this month, or any month if you aren’t also supporting Black Lives Matter and the riots going on against police violence right now. Us white LGBTQ+ need to stand up for our black siblings and their rights, their struggles. We need to amplify their voices and show any support we can. new drinking game idea! if you see this post you legally have to drink some water. self-care time bitch. consider this a threat.
This is my last project so far this year. I wanted to show some tribute to Percy Jackson series once I finished reading all the books (the story fascinated me more and more, I was reading and at the same time thinking "Woah, this part could be a great poster!”), and I really intended to create a poster for each one of the seven and even a few more (I don’t like HOO that much, tho, only a few characters), but then I saw a painful spoiler. I’m serious: when I saw that that character died I lost my whole inspiration and all my motivation! Suddenly this project became something exhausting for me. So finally, after months, I’m posting this cause I decided I’ll no longer move forward with this project. But I really love these and I hope you guys enjoy it too!
what else could i like about her? i don’t know, how her eyes look right into yours. how you could live in an ocean of her thoughts

“scythes are impractical battle weapons” you say but i can’t hear you over the swish swish of my huge fucking scythe, which is cool
Oh! Ive actually done a bit of research on this! I found some scythe like weapon alternatives that work well as weapons while still maintaining the aesthetic!
@masochist-incarnate WHAT ARE THEY
IM SO GODDAMN FUCKING GLAD YOU ASKED
First, let’s start with war picks, also known as horsemans picks, or nadziaks. they look like this to start:
these weapons were fucking INCREDIBLE at piercing through steel plate armor, and was highly used by calvary in the 17th century with origins in the middle east and europe, not only were these functional weapons, but they were good, your armor wouldn’t protect you from a swing of this, and its not like not wearing armor would do you any good.
Next we have kamas, which look like this,
kamas are essentially the daggers of scythes, even being used for farming asian crops, they don’t have any real downside, and are even heavily used in martial arts
next, would be zaghals, or for long, indian zaghal axes, which look like this
these were made for a similar use as the war pick, but it’s structured to be a sharper edge with a reinforced point, which allowed it to pierce through armor, like the war pick, but kept the sides sharper, allowing it to cut more effectively, and the handles on them are short and long depending on preference.
Next we have indo persian war hammers, which look like this:
These ones come closest to the scythe in visual terms in my opinion, and are also my favourite, these ones are still armor evicerating, but have a counterweight hammer on the other side, which helps stabilise the swing, and adds more momentum, along with being a hammer on the other side.
And finally, we have the war scythe, which looks like this.
i know what you’re thinking, and yeah! i agree! its not a scythe like weapon, its a bad looking spear! these were made when farmers found out that their farming scythes were pretty sucky weapons and did like shit, so they repositioned the blade on the pole to be more usable! I hate this and i didn’t want to include this, but i have to because one of you fucks will do a 3 second google search and ask “what about war scythes” because you think you know more than me! i hate this weapon!
Also, if giant sickles are more you’re speed, there’s the Ethiopian shotel
Or, the more popular Egyptian khopesh
May I rise you with Japanese Kusarigama ( 鎖鎌) The kusarigama adds a chain to either the back of the blade or the end of the handle (like on this example). The idea was to hit or entangle the opponent with the weight and chain and follow up with an attack of the scythe blade.
If you’re like me and thrive under routine, you might be struggling right now. I haven’t left my house for a bit now, and I can tell it’s starting to take a toll on me. Here’s a list of the steps I will try to take. Hopefully, it might help you too. (Disclaimer: some of these activities might not work for you. That is ok!)
Get dressed as if you are going somewhere. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just something aside from the same pjs you’ve been wearing all week.
To expand on this, wear your glasses/contacts and watch.
Have regular meals. 3 a day (or 2 if you’re not a breakfast person). If possible, have something of substance.
Drink water! Set a goal for how much you will consume every day.
Set goals for the day. You might even want to make a rough schedule with some timelines.
Have an idea of when you will get up/go to sleep every day. This might require setting an alarm.
Take your meds, brush your teeth, and wash your face.
Set some limits for your screentime.
Journal. This can help you keep in touch with reality. It will also serve as a good record of these events once it has all passed.
Take a shower regularly.
Use this time to pursue something creative! You can even try something outside of your usual outlet.
If you can, get out of your house. You don’t have to go anywhere (and that’s probably not recommended). Just spend a moment outside.
If that’s not an option, try not to keep yourself confined to one room.
Keep in touch with those important to you.
Finally, if you are struggling, please reach out!
Feel free to add your own suggestions to this.
