dragonborn: i mean i just walked in and witnessed an attempted murder which was linked to a city-wide conspiracy and cover-up, then when i got done with that i fought a giant spider that just kinda chills out in the ancient ruins filled with violent machinery, then i accidentally got involved with a daedric prince by helping somebody investigate a weird house, then i found a whole cult of cannibals worshipping a second daedra, the apothecary assistant wants me to kill two people and obviously i can't forget that at a recent discussion of terms of a temporary truce the leader of the rebellion against the empire demanded that the city be surrendered to the stormcloaks as compensation for his not attacking for a while because a dragon from 3000 years ago is resurrecting other dragons to eat the world so, like, the city is physically and politically unsafe on so many different levels, and like speaking of levels the whole city is arranged with sets of stone stairs and we live in wintertown wintersville so if ice forms on those stairs people are gonna be falling all over the place

The reason depression is literally the worst is not because of the soul-crushing sadness or the wanting to kill yourself or the self harm or all the violent and extreme emotions that come with dealing with this particular mental handicap. It’s the long and painful stretches of days of weeks of months where you’re not really depressed, but you kind of just exist. The time you spend sitting in bed aimlessly browsing the Internet instead of finishing that video game you thought was fun or going out with a friend to see a movie or getting up and doing your laundry. You exist, and it’s okay, but you’re not really sure why. You’re not doing anything productive when you have all the time in the world to be doing it. You feel like you’re missing out on life, but at the same time you feel that it doesn’t really matter. That’s the worst kind of depression.
