Had a dream where I met a homeless person who turned out to be the best rapper in the world. I agreed to be their studio engineer and I met with their crew to discuss a plan for studio time. I agreed to do their first single for free. It was at my parent’s house which in my dream state was transformed to a massive estate with a gorgeous and top-notch recording studio. The only catch was that the estate occasionally hosted events in the studio at the same time so I had the rapper agree to give me 24 hrs notice for any upcoming sessions so I could work out the schedule. Then I woke up…

A conductor that I played with died from the coronavirus last night. He played in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. For everyone who’s enjoying all those amazing live streams, please send your love to Mr. Lionti, 3rd viola. He loved music and his job so much and loved sharing it with people like me. It’s terrible to think that the next time I see a show there, he’ll be missing. But I’m so happy I had the chance to know him.

How to listen to music the wrong way

You know when you are looking for that connection with a song that transcends all space and time...  You feel transported to another dimension where none of the pain or anger you feel on a daily basis exist.  How long does it sustain?  Do the words cut to your core?  Does the beat resonate in your bones?  Can you taste the licks in your mouth as they pierce the air around your head?  When the build reaches the climax, do you become temporarily frozen and just vibe the fuck out?
