In high school I had this absolutely vile, disgusting excuse of a human being for a PE teacher. He was cruel, he really was. One summer he let the entire class run laps around the stadium and the ones who had to give up after a while had to explain afterwards in front of everyone why they had stopped running. He made me play footie with a strained ankle and his inappropriate remarks towards the prettier girls of the class could fill a whole book. I despise him, I really do, but he did teach me one important thing. 

When you want to state an observation or opinion of yours, you introduce or end that sentence with an “I think that/in my opinon” 

Why do you do that? Because your opinion is just that, your opinion. It is not a general fact, and there will be people who’ll make sure disagree. By adding these three magical words to your statement, however, you make yourself a lot less assailable, and more importantly look a lot less patronising.
