Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: Who Do You Want There?
There are many people we all want in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I have quite a few myself, but the one I want most in that place is Procol Harum.
They were once before nominated to be inducted, but eventually they did not get far enough to actually be inducted. This angers me some. I think Procol Harum should be inducted.
For 2017, they are not even nominated! Procol Harum deserves to be there. They have many fans and have accomplished so much in just their first 10 years. It would be interesting to see memorabilia of the band in such a recognized place.
I live in Ohio and last year I was planning to go but my family and I never got the chance. Now that I have gotten into new music, none of my Top 5 bands are even in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! A few which I can understand. These few are Les Charlots: a French comedy rock group of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s, Marmalade: an extremely unknown and underrated Scottish pop group most popular in the ‘60s and ‘70s, and The Smoke: another extremely unknown and underrated psychedelic rock band of Britain most popular in the ‘60s.
The last band on my list is more of a duo. Sonny & Cher. Cher has made a huge legacy of music, fashion, ideas, movies, and so much more. Sonny & Cher was the start, the roots of bubblegum pop and ‘60s fashion. The extremely talented duo deserves to be in the Hall of Fame for many reasons.
But, over all of these bands, Procol Harum deserves it the most. Their extreme legacy of baroque and symphonic rock sparked the ideas for progressive rock and inspired much of the popular bands of the 1970s, even Queen. Who’s with me when I say Procol Harum deserves and needs to be inducted?
