And its funny when I say I'm christian, ur ears tend to listen to it different/ But every rapper mentions God so the problem aint me saying it, they threatened cuz they know I live it/ - @mynameisBizzle
For years I hated Fathers Day. It was another reminder of the poor condition of my relationship (or lack of) with my father For years I walked around mad, confused, frustrated and in pain over my Father’s presence and subsequent absence from my life. I couldnt understand how he could know where his child was, and never be there, ever. How all you could ever do is take away. I hated him. Not in the bratty “I hate You cause you didn’t buy me a PS3″ way, but a hatred that ran deep down into my soul. My hatred for my father impacted everything about me. I carried a weight that I should’ve never known. It burdened my heart. It crippled me. It tainted my relationships with others. My lack of trust and sense of abandonment made be rebellious.I was headed down a sure path of destruction, and I was aware of it. BUT GOD.
I realized that hating my father did nothing but hinder MY growth. The bitter roots formed in my heart would ensure failure. There had to be more to life than hatred & pain. More than neglect & abandonment. I needed the weight of hatred & self destruction lifted. To God be the Glory, there is more to life. There is life, there is hope, there is relief. There was Christ. Not relief in that everything would be better immediately, because truth be told, my dad was still a drunk, after I submitted to the Lord. But relief in that when I forgave, the bondage of brokenness no longer reigned over me. Hatred was no longer my slavemaster. Truth be told,my father never said sorry for what he did/didnt do. Likewise, your offender may never apologize. But forgive. Their remorse should not be a condition for your freedom. Choose freedom over frustration. Love over hatred. I know its easier said. But it is necessary. Forgiveness is not earned, and not for the offender. It is given to undeserving people and is for the abused.
Does it hurt? YES. Sometimes even now? YES. Do I still wonder sometimes? YES. Do I wish my son had a grandfather? YES.But I refuse to allow the pain to control me. Don’t let the enemy keep you bound in unforgiveness.Do we have a right to be mad? YES. Still, we must relinquish our right to be mad if we are to claim our right to redemption in Christ. There is no greater offender than mankind. None greater offended than God. Still he made a way for us to be forgiven so that we can be loved I KNOW. Its hard, but make a way to forgive this weekend. Sacrifice your right to anger, relinquish your allegiance to pain. You can be free Allow God to infiltrate the black holes in your heart. Only he can fill that void. He is the Father to fatherless. Trust me, I know. Choose to Love. Choose to Forgive. Choose to Live. Choose Christ. Let it Go. – Jeremiah Bligen
