there is something that happens when you are in a helpless situation and you have to endure hearing the nword said to your face. something similar happened to me a few months back, and it seriously fucks with you on a spiritual and ancestral level that i can’t explain. to have to endure that when speaking on and standing as a representation of black art—i have no words for it.

when it happened to me, everyone that was there just sat as i advocated for myself. they just sat and looked around while my poem about black life and hardships sat in front of them.

i fear they’ll never understand.

this has nothing to do with that man’s disability because disabled people can be racist. it has everything to do with not honoring black art and not protecting black lives.

it’s a batkid tradition to memorise Bruce’s credit card number. when you join the family you get kidnapped and held hostage by the kids while the existing siblings drill you repeatedly until you can quote all the numbers like a soldier mindlessly responding to their drill sergeant. Bruce doesn’t find out this is a thing until theres a big case that requires some of the kids back up the JLA in a mission, but Duke hasnt slept for like three days so when Bruce barks at him to pay attention he snaps upwards like a sleeper agent to rattle off the entire card number by default. the table falls silent. Bruce furrows his brow.

Bruce: …wait. was that my credit card number?

Duke, instantly: im so sorry it was Dick’s fault i promise

Dick: HEY-

This seemed like an open and shit case to everyone with two braincells to rub together but the amount of mental gymnastics I've seen racists do to justify Ahmaud's death is disgusting.

Remember when /pol/ and other right-wing places were trying to spread the lie that Ahmaud was wearing hiking boots and carrying a hammer to make him seem like he was dangerous? These people will do literally anything to justify a black person's murder. They automatically think "black person = guilty" and work backwards from there.
