The Rationals in a nutshell:
“Feelings are weird.”
Yes. And that makes it more annoying and then it reinforces you’re just grumpy. Also, I am grumpy. But it’s not all one thing.
Only rhetorical, as I have no social skills either, but I suppose you could try it.
It’s just..socializing takes a lot of effort.
It does. And people find it odd. It’s like “aww, why do you hate parties, grumpy face” and ugh, fu- bugger off.
Only rhetorical, as I have no social skills either, but I suppose you could try it.
I’m terrible at making friends.

LeAnn Rimes - Can`t Fight The Moonlight Can’t Fight The Moonlight (2000)
Under a lovers’ sky Gonna be with you And noone’s gonna be around If you think that you won’t fall Well just wait until Til the sun goes down
Underneath the starlight - starlight There’s a magical feeling - so right It’ll steal your heart tonight
You can try to resist Try to hide from my kiss But you know But you know that you can’t fight the moonlight Deep in the dark You’ll surrender your heart But you know But you know that you can’t fight the moonlight No, you can’t fight it It’s gonna get to your heart
There’s no escape from love Once a gentle breeze Weaves it’s spell upon your heart No matter what you think It won’t be too long Til your in my arms Underneath the starlight - starlight We’ll be lost in the rhythm - so right Feel it steal your heart tonight
You can try to resist Try to hide from my kiss But you know But you know that you can’t fight the moonlight Deep in the dark You’ll surrender your heart But you know But you know that you can’t fight the moonlight No you can’t fight it No matter what you do The night is gonna get to you
Don’t try then You’re never gonna win
Underneath the starlight - starlight There’s a magical feeling - so right It will steal your heart tonight
You can try to resist Try to hide from my kiss But you know But you know that you can’t fight the moonlight Deep in the dark You’ll surrender your heart But you know But you know that you can’t fight the moonlight No, you can’t fight it
You can try to resist Try to hide from my kiss But you know Don’t you know that you can’t fight the moonlight Deep in the dark You’ll surrender your heart But you know But you know that you can’t fight the moonlight No, you can’t fight it It’s gonna get to your heart
“Is that meant to impress me?”
No...I just...never mind.
Olive smiled and let a small giggle escape her lips as she saw the owl fly down and tap her face. “Hello, love.” She had been around Matthew enough to know that when he’d gone Animagus, it meant he didn’t feel like talking. She sighed and continued humming to herself. “I was just on my way to do the feedings.”
Matthew imitated should he be fed too and awkwardly hopped down her arm and flapped down, and landed and hooted rhythmically, as if he was just another hungry owl waiting for treats. He sighed a proceeded to just walk along instead of flying and waggled along beside her. He hummed to himself which came out as a soft, musical screeching.

July 14, 2015 Fireflies
Olive walked around the grounds barefoot on her way to feed the creatures who lived near the castle. She walked softly, but hummed to herself as she went along, not noticing anyone else around, as she was too busy inside her head.
Matthew always found it funny that his Animagus was a bird, since his vertigo was so bad his first-year peers had found out the disgusting way in their first flying lesson. He usually flew just high enough so that he could flap his wings; and occasionally he did some very un-owl like movements as his wings hit the ground and it made him jump and tumble slightly. He tumbled when he transformed back too. He was the same with Potions, very good, but a little clumsy (he and Colin only differed in that he was quieter about it and the subject was his thing). It also meant he had more sympathy for those who weren’t those bloody high-achievers who talk about elegant potion making, but really couldn’t invent their own if their life depended on it. Everyone was good at different things, it’s about time that was accepted.
He was too warm, and decided to head in the grounds- as an owl, he wasn’t in a small talk mood. Thanks to being in a relationship with Olive, he felt like he was going to spend his entire life at the castle. It did mean no travelling. But it also meant, bored and hot as hell. Jossy was also bored and hot as hell, meaning that Matthew had been walking around the castle with a face like thunder, which Colin spotted and said he watch him for a bit. A little affronted that his competence had been questioned, but grateful, Jossy had eagerly gone after Colin’s enchanted bouncy balls, which had been charmed so long, they had taken on a life of their own. Matthew had always been freaked out by this particular aspect of magical theory and ran in the opposite direction.
He heard crunching and landed breifly to see what it was. He had no ability to walk past a noise. Olive was there and he flew towards her, recognizable as an Animagus. Owls certainly did not tap people’s faces as a greeting; mind you, he thought, most humans would find that subjectively odd too. Arseholes.
