“I had an adventurous streak, yes.” He patted his leg. “I wouldn’t be lugging this cane around with me if I hadn’t I’m afraid.” Basjin leaned back in the chair with a sigh. “It is important, immensely so, especially if he stumbled on the same stuff there that I did, but actually gets a chance to document it. But I don’t think I’m much help from here in Klamenth.”
“Did you now,” He looked down at the mans leg and frowned. “Ah I see, well that is rather unfortunate. Would it be rude of me to ask how exactly that happened?” He wondered aloud as he folded his arms across his chest. “I see, well is there someone you feel comfortable accompanying him there?”
“No, it’s fine I just wish I had a better explanation than what I have to give. I was working on a thesis in France. I happened to be in the catacombs myself, and when I was trying to escape a tunnel collapsed, I nearly lost my leg. I don’t want the same thing happening to one of my students and I can’t think of anyone I could send with him; the things that happened in those tunnels...I don’t think anyone is prepared to face.”
