About to make some substitutes to butter and milk in the mashed potatoes I'm gonna make for a side and thinking about how you gotta know some things about what makes a dish comes out the way you want it to -- you're adding fat, and oil can replace butter if that's what you want -- in order to be successful.

The tangy sourness of the white wine vinegar + acidity from the raspberries, and it's all tempered by the sugar you cooked in. Mixed with sparkling water. It's like a fruit soda with none of the mildly alchemical taste the cheap brands could have.
Max Miller has this for free on his website - it only needs raspberries, white wine vinegar (canNOT be distilled vinegar, it will ruin the taste, but if you don't mind the color looking uninviting you can use apple cider too, red wine vinegar would have the same effect but a different taste I imagine), and sugar.

yeah yeah rainbow capitalism is bad and whatever but like. when I was a child, being pro gay was not the popular or lucrative choice. I'm happy that times have changed.
I miss rainbow capitalism. I do. I miss when it felt like public opinion was still pro gay. I understand it was always an empty gesture, but it mattered in a sense of knowing how socially acceptable being queer is. If that makes sense.
I just think everyone should take a moment to consider the question "what is your visual shorthand for cruelty?" and then follow it up with a critical "and who taught you that?"

why is an evil timeline character design disabled? (why do the heroes go through equally punishing battles and never lose an arm, a leg, an eye?)
why are the futuristic scifi terrorists uniformly darker skinned? (why are the heroes so much lighter?)
why is the greedy boss fat? (why are the heroes skinny?)
why is the criminal mastermind heavily scarred? (why is the brooding, traumatized hero unscathed?)
why is the predatory creep a bearded person in a dress and makeup? (why are none of the heroes trans women?)
who taught you that this is how things are?

guys the point is "reflect on how you have learned bigotry through exposure and you parrot it in your own works and in the fandoms you engage with without self awareness" not "tell me, specifically, what random motifs you think are evil"

'Oooh if you do what you love you'll never work a day in your life' false. I'm a glassblower. I love glass more than (almost) anything else. And I have worked. Every day. For the past four weeks. And I am just as burnt out and depressed and miserable as when I was killing myself working at the Home Depot. All of that labor is tainted with the knowledge that if I hadn't done it I wouldn't have been able to eat. Or live indoors. Or support my partner. Capitalism is hell, dont let anyone fucking lie to you and imply that if youre fucked up about it you're just doing it wrong.
Oh the Starbucks recipe didn't use heavy cream in their mocha either. It's in the whip cream only. 🤔 So I've been making it pretty close to the real thing.
I make it hot, though, and adding ice dilutes the taste, without the whipping cream to balance. I might still add some half n half in there to keep the uh. Potency. I like my mocha not too watery.

Well, still gonna boil it and find out what happens.
