Jamie propped a hand on her hip, more irritated now that he could tell something was bothering her. “Don’t do me any favors that I didn’t ask for, Callum. I can promise you I’m not upset. Nothing about you could upset me.” She narrowed her eyes at the man standing in front of her. Her eyes followed him as he walked around her, turning herself in a circle. “Well, you’re fairly good at secrets, so I’m sure you’ll do just fine with that.” Jamie cocked an eyebrow at him. “Oh, I wouldn’t say no one.”

Pursing his lips in a thoughtful pout, Cal crossed his arms over his chest, amusement sweeping through him. Little snippets of memories flashed back to him and he had to hold his tongue from recalling any aloud to Jamie. It never bothered him much that she wouldn’t acknowledge their history, but he did love it how she tried her best to pretend like nothing ever happened, or so Cal assumed that was what Jamie would do. “Don’t be so quick-- I’m not the only one here who’s got secrets.” He smirked, winking just quick enough for her to see and not any of the passing students. “As much as I would love to stay and chat with you all day, I do have that meeting to attend.” Folding his hands neatly behind his back, Callum just slightly leaned towards Jamie. “Though, I do have office hours today at twelve if you’d like a meeting of your own.” Straightening himself out, he quickly unfolded his hands and tapped her ever so lightly on the nose, “Laters, Jamie.” And with that, Cal swerved on his heels and began to strut down the hallway.

“Teach, instruct, basically the same thing. Each requires you to tell kids to do something, right?” She raised her brows at him. Jamie couldn’t help but notice the way he didn’t look at her as he spoke, and although she’d never admit it, it was kind of bothering her. The bell rang for everyone to be in class, and Jamie watched people disappear from the halls around them. “Someone important? Glad to see you’ve uh, snapped out of your old habits, Cal.” Though it was obvious she truly didn’t think he had.

Jamie’s words caused him to return from his thoughts and look down at her. “Oh, it’s alright, there’ll be a day you and I can get coffee. No need to be upset.” He shot her a charming smile before slowly walking around her. “I actually do have an important meeting with a couple teachers. It’s very top secret and hushed hushed.” Resting his hands on his waist, he stopped in his tracks. “And don’t you worry-- my habits haven’t gone old. No one can resist me.”

The fact that it was Callum who had run into her didn’t help her irritation at all. She stared at him with irritation in her eyes for a few moments. “I don’t have time for this right now, Callum. I’ve got a class to be to. And I’m sure you’ve got one to be teaching, hm?” She was finding it easier to be rude to him than to think about what had happened before he disappeared for a while.

“Well, physical education isn’t really a class you need to teach-- more like instruct. I have the period off, anyway. A nice little coffee break.” He ran a hand down his chest a couple times, still feeling a little sore from the impact, but wasn’t going to admit it. “Do excuse me, though. I hope you haven’t been hurt but I have a very important person to meet up with in the coffee room.” He said rather absentmindedly, not paying much attention to Jamie as he looked over her head while he talked.

Jamie walked through the halls of the school, headphones plugged into her ears and her eyes set on her destination. She was always one to leave one class and get straight to the other, no screwing around involved. But that didn’t stop other people from doing so. As someone smacked right into her, she let out an irritated sigh and removed a headphone. “School has only just started and people are already being irritating as fuck.”

“Well, someone must’ve eaten bad eggs for breakfast this morning.” Callum remarked as he reached down to grab the papers he had dropped. “Luckily for you, I’m wearing a jumper which soften your impact-- otherwise my rock-hard chest could’ve broken your perfect nose.” He lifted his chin proudly, half joking and half actually believing his words.
