So, I quit instagram, I’ll be archiving some of my old art from there and post it here, but in the mean time, here’s a drawing I did not too long ago, I drew Senbonzakura Miku by request of my boyfriend. I was looking back at my old art and decided to revisit lineless art and I’m really proud of this one, my next post will be my archived instagram post so stay tuned for that!

Ive recently watch Out of my mind on Disney+, I’ve enjoyed it. But it made me think. A lot. I don’t have cerebral palsy like Melody but I am “classified” by my school district as “Developmentally Disabled” because of my inability to read in 2nd grade, later leading to my diagnosis of ADHD(plus the diagnosis of Anxiety Disorder and Clinical depression). I also was given an IEP because of my reading struggles. Did it help? No. I had to learn to read myself. When I had my IEP, I never improved. I’ve been near failing since elementary, it’s only when I got medicated in 7th grade that I actually started to improve and grow. This isn’t my point however. It’s the fact that because people like me who are “Developmentally Disabled” don’t get treated fairly, like we’re aliens in this world. And it never changes. I am unable to exceed my education because of my IEP, they don’t believe I’m smart, they really think I’m a ticking time bomb and never treat me like a human. Not only does the school staff do this as well, my peers do it. I had a big friend group last year that excluded me in everything because my disability was an “inconvenience”. I later dropped them. But no matter what, I’m always lonely, because I barely have anyone that treats me like a human being. Why do people with “Developmental Disabilities” have to be treated so differently? Every human is different, why do “they” get treated like humans and we aren’t. Why do I have to be looked down upon like I’m stupid?(I didn’t know how to read I will admit, but there never taught me how to, I had to myself) All because of everything I have, my ADHD, my anxiety disorder, my clinical depression, why does that have to play a huge part of my image in peoples eyes? I know this is a well known issue, but I needed to let my feelings out. I don’t think my disability should play a part in my life that makes people think I’m a failure or that I’m an inconvenience. Just like Melody, I just want to be treated normally. I want to be human. Everyone wants to be treated human, why can’t we?
