Especially with Professor Villani, all you have to do is say cock and he is sold. “I thought but then again, at this school you never know what you’re going to find so I don’t presume,” he stated simply.  “You’d like Aristotle then, he thought penalties should be doubled for those drunk while committing an offense as they willingly gave up their reason beforehand,” he added with an upwards tilt of his lips.  “That is more than fine then. “I’m being serious,” he chuckled.  “I think I bedded almost every professor who had even the tiniest amount of interest in me last time I worked here.  Then again, back in those days the word gay had barely even been invented so who knows what will happen this time?” he questioned, actually wondering himself.  “And as if that pretty face doesn’t have the students and some teachers heads turning either?”

“I suppose that would be more trouble than it’s worth.” Oliver smiled and shook his head. “My mum used to always cook for me, every day. I’m still getting used to eating things that weren’t made fresh. It’s been a sort of shock to the system. That’s why I like to go and get fruit. Make sure I eat something that she wouldn’t be so disappointed in if she were to see it.”

“Yes it can be quite an intestinal roller coaster switching from home cooking to whatever glop this is,” he laughed.  “I’m sure your parents won’t care much what you are eating.  You are an adult now, for the most part at least.”

“I could definitely do that.” Jian was excited about sharing his discovery with someone else that might appreciate it. He wanted everyone to know just how good the sandwiches were, make sure they had good business for all of their hard work. “No problem. I’m sure that fruit’s really good too.” He smiled, reaching a hand over to the other man. “I’m Jian.”

“I’d be delighted then,” he smiled.  “It is good, very fresh.  I haven’t had strawberries in a long while,” he answered with a quirk of his lips, moving closer.  “I’m Kaiden, nice to meet you.  Are you a student or faculty?” he asked, never quite able to tell what with all the ageless people attending the school.

“I might take you up on that offer, while I was also alive around then, I wasn’t actually living in this realm until a little after 1800, so I missed out on some very interesting things” Ronan sighed, “It does, on occasion. Actually, my species is adept in healing magic, but I’ve never been one to do things the easy way. I feel like I should take my bad decisions painfully” The fae laughed softly.

“Oh really, what realm were you in?” he asked, his curiosity for all things supernatural peeking out.  “That’s stupidly noble of you,” he added with a laugh, fingers tracing over the cool bricks and stone mortar as they walked through the halls.  “Are you sure you wouldn’t rather I help?  Teaching these cretins might be even more of a chore with a hangover.”

“Some of us go off campus to restaurants. Or someone has a teacher friend that lets us cook in their loft.” Oberon stated. “Well, either way you are still handsome as hell, and I want to look like you when I get to be your age.”

“Is it really that bad?” Dominic asked, now curious to know if his steak would be horrible. After all, he wasn’t sure if you could ruin steak and as a wolf, meat was meat. But as a chef? Well, his palate was a bit pickier. “But I don’t know about that. There are some nice places in New York that sell Italian food. Like Tra Di Noi,” the werewolf spoke proudly, chuckle to his tone before he offered a hand to the warlock. “Dominic Gatti, professor of Culinary Arts. It’s nice to meet you.”

“For me it is,” he shrugged. “Maybe there are, then again a lot of them seem to be turning into fusion restaraunts and I’m a bit more traditional when it comes to my food,” he added as he pushed the rest of the plate away with distaste.  “Kaiden Cohen, professor of Philosophy,” he said taking the man’s hand.  “Strong shake, let me guess, werewolf?” he asked out of curiosity.

“Yeah, okay, and you’re tellin’ me because?” Malachai questioned with a raised brow as he turned to face the man eating– well, bitching but he had food on his fork so it technically counts for eating. Normally the warlock was used to people his age complaining but this man– who barely looked a day over forty– was talking like some old, dried war veteran complaining about how things were so much better back in the day. “Why don’t you try tellin’ the culinary fruits or some shit, I have a feeling they’ll care more about gettin’ you somethin’ your sensitive pallet can enjoy Gramps.”

“I wasn’t telling you anything, I simply enjoy the sound of my own voice,” he added with a faux pleasant smile as he turned to the young man.  “First of all, I really hope you’re not using fruits as a colorful euphemism for gay men, because then we might have a problem on our hands,” he said coolly.  “Second of all, its unwise to talk to your elders with such disrespect.  I could fry you alive with the snap of my fingers before you could blink kiddo.”

It’s remarkable, you’re got to try it.” Maybe Jian was making a bit too big of a deal of this, or maybe it was the best thing he’d eaten in a while. Sometimes he forgot that being a wolf gave him a weirdly strong metabolism and he could probably eat whatever he wanted without spoiling his figure, and he continued on with the same sort of nutrition plan he kept up as a human. Healthy food didn’t taste nearly as good as junk food. “Do you want to try it? You can have the other half, if you want. I don’t mind.”

“Maybe you can show me sometime?” he asked with a small smile.  Shaking his head, he kept smiling but put out a hand to stop the man.  “No, no I couldn’t.  Besides, I’ve already ate my fill with all this fruit for the moment.  Thank you ever so much for the offer though.”

It took Ronan a minute to actually piece together in his head where everything else was, “You know, religion isn’t all that far away from me either. Fairly sure I drag one of them in to help me out with a lecture on medieval art every so often” He laughed tucking his hands in his pockets as he strolled in the direction of where he was fairly sure the classrooms were. “Well, as much as I don’t like admitting it, I’ve got a terrible hangover at the moment, the medicine would be a lovely way to ease that problem”

“Well if you ever need anything from after about 1700 feel free to call on me.  I lived through the era, even if I wasn’t focusing on art that much,” he told the other man simply.  “Does human medicine work for you?  I figured most people just went to Warlocks when they needed something here,” he asked with a confused expression.

“Maybe there’s something to be done about it. With enough attention, most anything can be changed.” Or he just liked to believe that. Not everything could be changed. Some people didn’t want things to change. It was difficult to get anything with any form of nutrition in the dining hall, which made it hard to eat very well. Oliver smiled as he took a strawberry and then took one for himself, biting the bottom off of it off. “You’re welcome.” He licked his lips and shut the container, sliding it back into his bag. “Unless you have enough free time to make your own meals, I think it’s only right that the school provides something to keep you going through the long days.”

“Oh believe me I know, but this is one cause I’m not sure I’d care to fight over,” he said with a casual air.  “I do have time to make my own meals, but really, who wants to do that when you can have good food cooked for you so easily?  These modern times with carry out and delivery.  Such a time to be alive.”

“I’m sure.” Oberon chuckled as they both looked at the food in disgust. “Maybe we could go somewhere more appetizing?” Oberon sat next to the teacher. “And You a day over 35? Such lies!” Oberon smiled.

“Like where?  Got a suggestion?” he asked with a smile.  “I actually think I stopped letting myself age around 40.  Much easier to pass off as a young person who has aged poorly or an older person who has aged very well that way.”

The sounds he was making were perhaps a bit too sexual in nature for someone eating a sandwich. There was hardly any shame in him at all, though, because it was a damn good sandwich. Probably the best philly steak and cheese he’d ever put in his mouth, and he was letting everyone within earshot know it. “My god.” Jian groaned, setting the half he had left down in the styrofoam container it’d come in and wiping a napkin across his lips. His eyes moved to the closest person to him and he smirked. “Don’t judge. This is like heaven on bread. Those guys down in town really know what they’re doing.”

Kaiden had heard the man at the next table sounding like he was having an orgasm from a bite of sandwich, stopping his own meal to stare.  “I’d love to know where you’re getting that food, considering the options here have been less than appealing to my palate so far,” he said, noting how most of his own plate was just fruit which was hard to mess up.

It took a moment for the rather annoyed words to actually properly run through Ronan’s head with his headache. “Actually, strangely, I think they’re actually rather close to the Art History classrooms. You’re welcome to follow me back there if you like? I should probably dig some painkillers out of my desk anyway”

“Are they now?  Before ti was nearest the religions classes,” he said with a humph.  Of course the school would have to change and adapt to the new times, but he’d have preferred if they’d at least given him a map when he arrived.  “I suppose that would be helpful, thank you.  And what’s the medicine for?” he asked as they started to walk.

Oliver wasn’t usually one to listen to others while they spoke, but the man’s comments didn’t seem to be directed at anyone in particular. He could relate to the sub-par quality of the food, as he was used to incredibly good home cooking, but he also knew there wasn’t a lot to be done about it. “I suppose there are only so many ways to make food in bulk, and I doubt any of them are good.” The young elf smiled softly and reached into his messenger bag, pulling out a container of fresh strawberries. He opened it and held it out as an offering. “There’s this place in town that is excellent, they always have the best fresh produce. It’s not a meal by any means, but it’s good for getting the taste out of your mouth.”

His eyes trailed up and over to the other male as he spoke, tilting his head at him.  “That may very well be true, but it seems as if there wasn’t even an effort to make this edible,” he professed.  He flicked a fry back to his plate and turned in his seat to more readily see the other.  “No, I couldn’t, but maybe just one,” he said, plucking a fruit from the container and taking a bite.  The juices were fresh and cool in his mouth and it definitely did take the acrid taste from his mouth away.  “Thank you.”
