So..do we think Liliya’s tongue situation is more metaphorical than it is literal?
Her tongue was a huge topic of conversation in the documents, which will soon be expanded I’m sure. The comic claims her tongue was cut off and by the grace of God regrew - however, the tongue cannot grow back fully. It can rebuild itself, yes, but cannot grow. If her tongue was cut, I’m sure it was either not cut off completely OR only repaired itself to the best possible extent.
The story seems fabricated, possibly as an element to make her seem more mystical and God-like. A myth. Something divine. It’s possible this story was manipulated to alter Liliya’s image and therefore influence. The tongue regrew, a representation of her new teachings. Following the incident, her influence skyrocketed. She could now speak with the “tongue of God.” If Liliya spoke, you listened; you wouldn’t defy nor ignore God, would you? The idea that she’s a voice of God exasperates her previous power.
It’s all entirely possible that the tongue story is completely real, Outlast does dabble in the supernatural at times. However, the tongue story was told by someone who heard the story from someone who heard the story from someone who blah blah blah blah. It’s entirely possible the story started off logical but became more illogical as it passed from person to person.
I’m still figuring out Liliya’s backstory and therefore my theories for her but this is just something I’ve been sitting on for a bit. Not set in stone, just throwing it out there.
I LOVE THESE THEORIES SO MUCH!!!! the theories of liliya as a false idol (? idk if that'd be the best term for it or not) are so interesting to me and i am PRAYINGGGG that they end up being true, it'd be so sick😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!!

relevant but not main point of the post: negl i don't enjoy yandere hcs or tropes very much, but i feel like the outlast series is one of the few media that i can enjoy it in????? idk i just like thinking of lili as a yandere/something similar to it, especially if i'm thinking of how she could/would be in the trials. yes, i think she'd lose her shit and attack a pouncer if one jumped on me/a reagent she likes. she's just silly like that <3
