Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, Namo Buddha Nepal
The monastery is named after a buddhist prince who gave his life to feed a starving tiger mother. The temple was erected there and there is a monument of a tiger and her three cubs outside the temple in commemoration.

We wish to create stability in communities affected by natural disasters, disease and or political stability by creating sustainable businesses.
We are currently working with other organisations on the ground in Nepal, essentially fund raising in an engaging way to continue to support them.

LANGTANG DISASTER (4 MIN READ)
Langtang a mountainous region of Nepal in the Sindhupalchowk district, on the edge of Nepal beside the TIBET border, was devastated by the two recent earth quakes and is still being trembled by never ending aftershocks. The first quake reaching 7.9 on the richter scale created a 5km avalanche that wiped out whole communities leaving 12 survivors out of approximately 300-600 locals.
3%. Thats the percentage of survivors if we create an average of 450 people. 2.7% if we want to be more precise . This simple percentage of losses speaks louder then words as to the destruction caused. Most mountain people living in Nepal are from tibetan origins, this blow has not only robbed those of there lives but also of a wealth of Tibetan culture and destroyed the unique mountain village community.
Whilst in the Langtang, I learnt that the communities worked more on a socialistic angle. Money was to be shared. You need to build a house? Sure, we’ll gather round. The currency was that of labour. labour exchanged for labour, food etc. I help build your house, you help me in my field- food of course which we will share. Some people even had specific duties to the community, I met a woman who daily carried a bursting sack of rice from the local town up 3200m to her village with such ease. With only 12 people its hard to see how this unique structure can be re-made.
Remaining villagers from towns also with in the Langtang region cannot salvage their belongings from the remains of their homes due to continuing aftershocks. It is to dangerous to harvest food either, with the monsoon season on its way people are being left to threat and go bored out of there minds. We can not stop an earthquake although I’m sure we will try. However we can support the remaining villagers in to one day being able to rebuild their lives. PIP also has plans to help with Langtang however we can not start these untill we are further established.
A bit about PIP (2mins read)
We are a new initiative just launching. We aim to create stability in communities affected by natural disasters, disease and political instability by creating sustainable businesses.
However our first objective will be to help fund on the ground charities working in Nepal that are providing water purifiers around the country. Nepal has been hit by two Earth quakes, both scoring higher than a seven on the Richter scale. This has resulted in an estimated 8,000 confirmed dead (however expected to rise) and millions effected. Emergency aid is rushing to help create temporary housing, provide food and water as well as medical care. However the monsoon season is approaching.
The monsoon season, a time of year with incredibly high volume of rain fall, usually hits Nepal around the second week of June. The higher than average rainfall, that can cause flooding, will damage temporary housing as well as promote the spread of waterborne diseases, such as the very real threat of cholera, dysentery and typhoid.
Therefore we hope to raise funds through running an art auction partnering with the wonderfully creative LSD magazine to provide to charities and NGO’s working to provide people with access to clean drinking water.
