A prompts, concepts, suggestions etc. blog for Vampires SMP, a Minecraft roleplay server by POW Creations.
Find prompts for when you want to write something but can’t think of what, or share plot bunnies when the ideas just won’t leave your head and onto paper! Adding onto prompts and bouncing ideas in the comments and reblogs is enjoyed and encouraged.
Writing Prompt-oriented, however fanart prompts, headcanon prompts and anything else that comes to mind are welcome as well, whatever your heart desires.
This blog is run by one person, @grithogirl , and prioritizes fun over function and professionalism, so don’t expect perfect professional stuff*, I’m here because I love Minecraft blorbos just like you :D.
* I do NOT consider accessibility to be "professional stuff", I know some use being casual as an excuse to not add plaintext, alt text, etc. Not happening here <3
Blog is also run by a person who uses Tumblr exclusively on PC, and is best experienced in the dashboard rather than with mobile notifs on. (AKA, spam warning probably!)
Reminders:
[PT: Reminders: /End PT]
There is no such thing as a “taken” prompt, even if there’s a million fics out there with the same premise, there’s so many people out there who’ve read every single one of them and are foaming at the mouth for a million more!
If you see a similar prompt on the blog already, but have your own spin on it, send it in anyway! We’d love to hear your unique take on it!
OC prompts are welcome and encouraged!
Be self indulgent! Crossovers, Mary Sues, indulgent AUs etc. are welcome and encouraged.
Prompts are allowed in any form! Be it a fully thought out concept, a “wouldn’t it be cool if…” a script-style character dialogue, barely legible rambles, etc. ad nauseam!
By submitting a prompt you hereby decree that you are not submitting it on the basis of someone else being able to “do it better”. Nobody can fulfill your ideas better than you can!
Passion over quality, always! Fanfic is about being a fan and loving something, not being the best writer around :D
All headcanons, concepts, and prompts are allowed and encouraged on this account, that goes for romantic and sexual (to an extent, explicit NSFW is not allowed on this blog) concepts involving any and all characters, as well as headcanons and interpretations of sex, gender, transness, intersexuality, asexuality, race, ability, weight, etc.
Rules:
[PT: Rules: /end PT]
(Well, not really rules, just things that make my life easier)
I ask that roleplay sparked by prompts be made under new posts and their threads / ask boxes / anywhere else that isn’t under my post, as it can clog up notifs. Feel free to copy paste with a link to the prompt post or just link to the post to give context to potential rp partners. Long continuation threads of fic prompts are allowed as I feel it’s more rare for them to get that long than it is for roleplays, lmao!
I’d prefer if no NSFW prompts are sent, as per the nature of MCRP fandoms having quite a few minors. No hate to those that enjoy that stuff :] Risque / mature prompts are allowed, as per the themes of blood and gothic romance that vampire fiction entails. If you’re unsure on the age rating of a prompt, send it in anyway! This account is run by an adult, and I’m happy to age rate it for you. Worst case scenario is I don’t post it. <3
No AI prompts nor running prompts through an AI, yucky gross!
Please credit the blog / link back to the post if you use a prompt from here. Personally as the blog owner idgaf if you credit my own prompts, however this blog contains ask suggestions from other people who maybe do want credit! Also its just nice to share the love :]
Mentioning the blog or posting your fics in the reblogs is not required, but encouraged because I love reblogging them!
This blog operates with character-creator separation and the fact that mcrp characters are fictional in mind. However, please follow creator boundaries when talking about the creators themselves! Rule of thumb; be nice and practice human decency.
No RPF, this blog is focused on the story of Vampires SMP :D

Controversies:
- AvidMC and Marme1ade:
This blog and the person who runs it aka me in no way supports the ex-content creators AvidMC and Marme1ade. However there will likely be mentions of v!Avid due to the nature of this blog; all posts will be tagged accordingly, so if you block the character tags there shouldn’t be any issues :D
- Pyroscythe and Milkberry:
This blog is anti-censorship and operates on a fandom-is-for-fans basis. Full explanation post (here)

Some excellent posts on the issues (here) and (here)
Great post (here) for younger fans who are new to fandom spaces!
Consider, Scott and Xornoth were identical twins. They were both turned into vampires as well but by different sires with different teachings. Scott by a vampire named Aeor and Xornoth by Aeor's twin Exor.
This information is hidden during the events of Oakhurst, but once it's discovered Scott is beyond angry to hear what Xornoth did while using his name.
Basically Xornoth was the evil vampire who was imprisoned in Oakhurst by a witch (Gem) and when he woke up he used his twin's name instead because he was scared of being discovered. By the time he realized no one knew anything about the Goldsmiths he was too deep in the lie to turn back.
Scott could be in Oakhurst already (just waking up late), arrive in Oakhurst, find out after Oakhurst, or be angrily waiting outside the barrier for his twin. Maybe even with Morcant for comedy purposes.
the horror of someone else wearing your skin, or, alternatively, the comedy of a brother who's about to dismantle your lies and whoop your ass
AU: The undead-- skeletons, zombies-- seem to be common in Oakhurst, but the casualness the characters approach them with implies they're common in the rest of the world too. But what if they weren't?
Or: Vampires and a Zombie Apocalypse at the same time (Oh god they're screwed)
Because being the literal only survivor of a massacre is kind of unusual, isn't it? It implies the people carrying it out were methodical, and could take their time checking that people were dead. Only one missed? In an entire town? Yeah, they were checking.
...Or they could smell it.
Like zombies.
And of course, we have the other human with a massacre in his backstory. And that one involved poisoning the water and food supply until the victims started eating each other.
I see you: vampires and a zombie apocalypse at the same time, and I raise (haha) you: the zombie apocalypse is 20 years old, and Doc Legs started it.
Some of the anachronisms are just people resorting to older technology that doesn't require as much maintenance. People know about movies because they're useful for disseminating information. People are using carriages anyway because they're much, much less likely to break down than cars, and if an axle breaks or the carriage gets stuck, you can still get the hell away on the horse, or cripple the horse as a distraction for the horde while you run.
The political power of places like The Citadel is because they're capable of defending their bounds against the hordes. Unlike, say, Paris. (RIP)
#doesn't avid canonically invent a zombie cure in vsmp as well#you could do something with that as well
via @tremendousdreamtragedy he does!
This context actually shifts the whole thing around Doc calling it rabies from "Avid found a cure to a disease we still don't have a cure for" to "Avid found a cure to a modified disease probably a bit less than 20 years after it came onto the scene" which is incredible but means there was probably an active community looking to fix it.
(And Doc's comment that it's rabies...well. He had to start from somewhere, eh?)

Like theres so many duos you could do. Say, crossfangs. Eridians are vampires. Abolish takes Grace's position, sent to space now alone. The orginazation sent him. When he meets Scott (or Owen or Louis or Legs) as his first sentient alien meeting. Perhaps vampirism is infectious, but vampires can also reproduce aside from turning others.
Maybe vampires don't need oxygen, but can survive in it. So for a while they're separated as neither realizes Scott could survive in Abolish’s atmosphere.
The two work together to figure out the petrova problem, before Abolish goes with Scott to his planet of vampires.
And. Perhaps. Vampires are not nessicarily humanoid. Perhaps they come in many different forms. Some more humanoid, but many ranging forms. Some have 100 eyes some have none. Some have 2 legs some have 1000. Some are symmetrical some are not. Some have fur some have skin some have scales some have carapases.
Aliems :] Super cute! the possibilities are endless
Turning sleeps are real and generally last around two weeks (Owen's was only three days cause his Sire died midway and him passing out after the massacre was a result of it). The reason we never see it in canon is because the beacons allow fledglings to mature faster while under their influence making them skip the turning sleeps (Everyone who has any idea about how vamps work are mildly confused but decide not to think to hard about). The second the barriers go down everyone's hit at the same time and they all kinda just pass out at moonrot's house. Abolish decides he wants no part in this and leaves to meet up with his coworkers and Scott's left waiting for everyone to wake up
Vampires SMP AU but the only difference is that Owen walks into Oakhurst still drenched in blood and caked in dirt, so everyone is about 250% more scared of him except Shelby who thinks she’s just found bigfoot
Everyone (except the starter vamps, cleo, legs and abolish) were dedicated renaissance actors who thought they got sent back in time and are rolling with it. (The starter vamps have been asleep, Cleo and Abolish have spent too much time around immortals to notice anything is off, and Legs has spent the past however long in backwater places and has no idea what year it is) shenanigans ensue.
vsmp fans cant figure out what year vsmp is set in, and now the characters cant either!

hi! it's me, oakhurst spirit/fae louis anon, back on my bullshit again
I HAVE THOUGHTS ABOUT THE FOREST BURNING IN EPISODE SEVEN. because canonically, owen planted those trees originally. perhaps just a small plot of them, but enough to make a large difference in the ecosystem that was then destroyed by the fires.
and perhaps that's how louis met owen at first. owen did a kind, selfless thing that made him impossible to ignore, in louis' eyes. so what happens to louis when the forest burns? pain, i'm sure. perhaps he doesn't see it happening, but he feels it, and he doubles over screaming in pain. maybe that is how his secret is revealed - when the fire burns itself out and louis is weakened almost as much as he was after the pyre.
can someone write this because i am so busy, i don't have the time, but i love it SO MUCH
Oakhurst is place that's treated like a myth, because the barrier surrounding it actually stays up all century long except for that one cursed time every 200 years. It's the only time people can enter the place, and even then, most never made it out alive.
To the public, it's a mystery straight out of the best selling triller novel, but for the organization behind it all, it's nothing more than some ancient devices needing their annual maintenance.
Enter Abolish, the maintenance guy. He's just there for exactly one job. Find the problem beacon at the castle, that keep turning red every 200 years (cause y'know who), and turn it back to neutral. Done! That should get the barrier back up. The barrier that serves to keep vampires in and everyone else out, meaning he's got no problem just walking out as a human. At least, that's how it was supposed to be...
But then some people turned the town beacon orange, and he can't turn that one back, and now everyone's stuck, and how did this become a tug of war with a whole coven of vampires??? Whatever, just stop turning the beacons! They're supposed to stay neutral!
Everyone keeps messing up his work and Abolish just wanna go home lmao
Vampires have soulmates, but the catch is that only their bat form knows the identity of that soulmate. Abolish finds himself in his house late at night with a bat that refuses to stop clinging to him.
