@sherunsfaster                “ —— you can’t be fucking serious… you don’t get to DO that, sam!! ” things had been pretty near impossible for her to figure out. knowing the truth, maybe she didn’t want to watch them suffer. not like she did back when she thought this had all happened organically. but that didn’t mean that she wanted to jump on board and stick around, applaud at how happy they both were. she wanted them to be happy – but she couldn’t stick around and watch. jake’s pack was the first step to an escape from everything that had happened since the cullens returned to forks. sam knew almost as well as she did that her bitterness was not entirely brought upon by him. he’d seen the aftermath of the night her father died. “ it was a dick move to send jared begging for me to come back to where i belong using that stupid ass nickname. i will ALWAYSlove you, but you gave up your rights to want me by your side a long time ago. i don’t belong to you. ”

he’d  forgotten  just  how  small  leah’s  gaze  made  him  feel  ,        how  inexplicably  ugly  with  just  how  much  hate  laid  themselves  in  her  eyes  .       the  massive  animal  inside  of  him  begins  to  bristle  in  defense  to  the  feeling  inside  of  his  chest  ,      would  rather  fight  it’s  way  out  than  let  anybody  make  him  feel  like  he  was  less  than   .           but  this   ...    this   was   leah  .         sam  is  just  as  soft  for  her  as  he  had  been  then  and  that  ticker  inside  of  his  chest  was  proof  .       he  doesn’t  say  anything  .        only  let’s  himself  look  upon  this  girl ,      drinking  in  her  image  to  try  and  comfort  him  .       sam  hadn’t  planned  to  say  anything  nor  does  his  throat  let  him  .          but  he  know  leah  expects  something  of  him ,       words  for  her  to  use  and  sharpen  against  herself  for  later .        what  could  he  tell  her  that  she  would  believe ?            he  is  bound  by  wolf - code .      has  always  been  bound  by  some  code  &  most  likely  always  will  be ?     could  he  tell  her  that  he  feels  a  slave  to  the beastie  inside  of  him ,     to  the  people  that  count  on  him  the  most ?          he  comes  because  she  is  the  only  happenstance  that’s  brought  out  anything  in  him  that  was  not  forced  in  the  first  place ,     the  only  person  he  still  loves  because  he  chooses  to  do  so  .       ‘         i’m  sorry  i  left  .        i’m  sorry  the  things  we  planned  couldn’t  happen  .        i  didn’t  want  any  of  this  to  happen   ….   but  it  did  .         i  couldn’t  trap  you  here  with  me ,   lele  .          this  place’ll  ruin  you.   it  ruins  everybody  that  stays  here .      so  do  i  .        i  just   —   i  don’t  know  !        a  lot  of  things  are  happening  right  now  &  i  just   ….   ended  up  here .      i  didn’t  mean  anything  by  showing  up ,    leah .      i  just  wanted  to  see  you  .     ‘            needed  to  see  you.

sam  can’t  place  the  face  ,          but  she  smells  like  her   .        he  dare  not  think  of  her  name  .      the  scent  invades  his  nose  first   but  soon  he  can  see  her  too  ,      can  taste  the  person  whose  scent   she  shares  .        sam  turns  his  head  away  from  the  beach   ,       away  from  the  violent  crashing  of  the  water  against  the  shore  to  find  who  this  person  is ,      if  who  he  thinks  it  is  will  come  sauntering  down  the  beach  and  spit  his  name  from  her  mouth;        even  then ,    he  would  be  thankful .             but  it’s  not  &  the  confusion  is  clear  in  his  eyes  .            he  doesn’t  call  her  over  but  simply  acknowledges  her  presence,   an  invitation  if  he’s  ever  given  one  .

her  beauty  was  of  god - like  power  to  his  will  ,         despite  the  rot  that  she  reeks  of   ---   it  compels  a  deep  rumbling   growl  out  of  him  instinctively  .      the  shifter  is  drowsy  still ,     cannot  help  the  uncertain  way  his  knees  shake  under  his  gargantuan  size  ,     even  for  someone  as  lithe  as  him  .          the  room  itself  is  barren  save  for  her  presence   &   it  clearly  disorients  the  alpha   .             were  it  not  for  the  comfortable  stance  of  the  woman  at  his  door  he  would  have  already  phased  .
