"Solidarity with the Palestinian people's struggle- Death To Fascism, Freedom To The People"

“On Friday, July 9, a large rally of solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people was held in Belgrade. More than thirty thousand young people gathered on Marx and Engels Square, giving recognition and support to the Palestinians, against the Israeli aggressor. By occupying a large part of independent Lebanon and occupying the capital, Beirut, the Israeli army put the people of Palestine, who have been fighting for many years for the realization of their legitimate rights, before the fait accompli. In carrying out brutal aggression, the Israelis use such well-known fascist methods, well known in history. It's as if they forgot all the horrors of the Second World War, in which the Jewish people suffered huge casualties.

The youth of Belgrade fully expressed their solidarity. A rally called "Death to Fascism - Freedom to the People" was organized by the Association of Socialist Youth. All those present were greeted by the national hero, Colonel-General Dušan Korać, who spoke about the struggle of the Palestinian people and the support that our country provides to that struggle.

The representative of the PLO in Belgrade, Mohamed Naphan, thanked the peoples and nationalities of Yugoslavia for their help and solidarity. During the concert, a telegram sent to this gathering, the Union of Fighters and Youth of Yugoslavia, by the leader of the Palestinian people, Yasser Arafat, was read. During the musical part, the following appeared: R. M. Točak with the accompanying group, Električni Orgazam, Aki Rahimovski and Riblja Čorbba. They were mostly short performances, but very effective.”
