Two things can be true at once; that Crowley knows how Aziraphale feels and that Crowley believes that those feelings will also come second as long there’s heaven and hell, angels and demons, and ineffable plans.
I think that final bit in the book shop cemented that in his mind. Aziraphale openly stating Crowley completes him, and that he is what he wants, but only now that everything else is gone. This on the back of being left behind by Aziraphale at the end of season 2 and then his angel coming back because he’s in trouble and needs help again.
So, yea, I don’t really like the ending. Particularly because Crowley isn’t Crowley-ish. He has to be something different. Something less him. Something less scarred, embittered, and traumatised to be allowed peace and love.
