Everyone fought for Laurie to stay and Andrea to not get killed off. Everyone meaning the cast and crew. Even Scott Gimple himself, who went and rewrote Andrea’s original crappy death scene and came up with a better crappy death scene? So why the hell didn’t he try to save her in the rewrite if everyone was wanting her to stay?

It would’ve been so easy. Daryl, Michonne and Rick could get to Woodbury, just like in the episode, and find Andrea who had stabbed Milton before he could even bite into her flesh. They find her passed out from dehydration (because I really doubt Philip gave her anything to eat or drink while she was handcuffed to the dentist chair) and she wakes up after hearing them come in. Rick accepts her back into the group and they have the same conversation they did in the season 3 finale where Andrea says “Carl, Judith, the rest of them? Are they okay?” And Rick says “The rest of us.” They get Andrea out of there and take her back to the prison where she is greeted with warm hugs from every member of the prison group. She’s given food, water and a cell in the group’s cell block and the episode ends with a conversation between Andrea and Michonne, who still makes it her mission to go out there and find him and kill him for what he’s done. BAM, you got your season four.
