(07/02/26): added the anti harassment rule because of certain tumblr users using the prostuck tag that shall remain nameless here. also, added the pinned post changelog which will cover MAJOR changes in the pinned post (does not include ship glossary changes). third, changed formatting for the pinned post slightly to make it more readable
(07/03/26): since i wanted to reblog more foxy grandpa and aged wine (which arent considered "proship" by most homestucks here for whatever reason) i found myself checking for dnis more often, hence the "let me know if me reblogging your stuff makes you uncomfortable so i can delete it" note being added
These are more general headcanons than ship-specific, since my brain just loves that grey area.
(implied by canon, but) Dirk gets mistaken for Hal just as often as Hal gets mistaken by Dirk- and is equally grumpy about this.
They both keep a list of things to do when Hal gets a body. They both know Hal is never getting a body.
We as a fandom talk about Roxy's feelings for Dirk being a side-effect of Dirk being the only guy she can realistically have- but never think about how Dirk is in exactly the same situation to the point he'd commit (from his perspective) selfcest over it.
Suicidal ideation aside, Hal is outliving Dirk in most timelines. As much as Hal fears death, he realistically should/would fear Dirk's death a lot more. This is my headcanon for where most of the resentment comes from.
If Dirk can send other AI like Lil Seb to the past, he can send Hal to the past. Jane even likes Hal enough to keep him around. Dirk would rather doom Hal to the same fate than to be lonely.
Like, I don't even need to make them toxic and codependent, canon gives me so much to work with here.

Blackrom is inherently comship because it's based on hate, by human standards the trolls are all siblings, just Dave, that stuff with Hussie's self-insert and Vriska, and then there's whatever was going on with the sprites^2, it's filled with com/darkship stuff!

I feel a little gross for liking them so much but I do think they're kinda couple goals. Like yeah sure he's hitting and touching without consent and all, but also like, he can be so loving when she wants to be. Kibs kiss cuddle heart compliment .
