Again, nothing was said nor heard from SkĂĄggi who couldnât quite bring himself to be responsive. He simply followed Bard through his small home, eyes nervously roaming over the surroundings until they entered the bathroom. It was a familiar place for him: Bardâs bathroom, and it held a memory that was a fond one he could at least cling to, and not what he could remember of his imprisonment. Mute, and expressing himself like a child would, the elf gave a small nod of his head in ways of an answer. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, taking the strain off his ankle that was horribly bruised by the strain he placed himself in trying to free himself from his chains.
It was not difficult to tell that SkĂĄggi had been through some sort of trauma - not just from the silence, but from the way his eyes seemed to flick to every shadow, wary, if not utterly terrified of the possible enemies that could be lurking there. "I'll need you to take off your clothes - they'll need to be cleaned, and it'll make it easier to clean your wounds. Afterwards, you can borrow some of mine." Bard tried to speak as soothingly as possible, trying to show SkĂĄggi that he was not to be feared. "I don't know what happened, but - I know that someone did something awful to you. And - if I'm going to clean your wounds, I'll have to touch you. I need to know that you'll be okay with that." Bard spoke gently, but with a determined firmness, not giving SkĂĄggi an option to refuse. He supposed he could if he wanted to - but if he did, his wounds might just get the better of him.
i really want a thread where bard gets drunk and accidentally leads a revolution
Relief he didnât want to admit overwhelmed him when he heard the door unlatch and click open, and in it stood the figure of some one he could trust. Or at least hoped he could, though he still had his doubts and his fearsâ a mind thatâd been damaged only making it harder to look past his instinctive paranoia. He didnât the answer questions posed, and slowly limped inside Bardâs home. Direct eye contact with him was avoided as he did so and when he was out of public view, he relaxed somewhat, or as much as he could manage. His breathing was still strained and his body never ceased to tremble. He simply remained standing in one spot, eyes cast to the ground and arms securely around himself. Perhaps coming to Bard wasnât such a good idea.Â
SkĂĄggi's refusal to answer his questions only worried Bard more as he locked the door, teeth clasping on his lower lip for a moment of contemplation as to what to say or do. "Let's get you cleaned up," Bard said gently. Instinctively, he reached a hand forwards towards SkĂĄggi, but thought the better of it, and let it fall back to his side. "Come on." He motioned to his head towards the bathroom, leading the way, not accepting a descenting answer. He opened up the medicine cabinet, pulling out a questionable amount of medical supplies, which he rooted through to find what he was looking for - gauze, medical tape, antibacterial gel. "Will you let me bathe you?" Bard asked gently, gesturing towards the tub. "It'll be easier than cleaning your wounds individually with a cotton swab.

???????
SkĂĄggi was scared out of his mind and in absolute agony. He needed to be with some oneâ some one he wouldnât burden too much, who wasnât his mother or his younger twin. His state had shaken Kraki too much and he couldnât do it any longer: couldnât stand to hurt him because he himself was hurting too much to be the strong big brother he once was. All itâd taken was a simple freak out to upset his family and he had to leave. He had to get out of there, as fast as possible and as far away as he could get. Where there was no one he could upset or worry, and no one that could hurt hi.
So he sought some one out. Some one to comfort him, and look after him maybe. Bard was the first person who came to mind. The human was some one he could go to. He was some one safe, he tried to tell himself. He wouldnât hurt him, or violate him. He was gentle and kind; and so the dark elf reluctantly took himself to Midgard in a manner of desperation he didnât want to admit to. Standing outside the humanâs house, shivering and having difficulty with his breathing, he reached out to the door. There, he rapped his bruised knuckles against the wood, waiting a moment that was barely a couple of seconds before knocking again louder and more impatiently. He hoped that Bard was home. He didnât want to be standing outside alone. Not when there were people around and cars passing by. SkĂĄggi shifted his weight from one foot to the other and hugged himself, his heart beating painfully against his broken ribs.
Bard got few days off, but he had called in sick due to a lack of sleep over the past few days, knowing he would be useless at work anyways, and so he had the house to himself, as his children were at school. Bard's brows descended when he heard the knock upon the door - he hoped desperately that it was not his boss wanting to ensure that Bard actually was sick (something that he knew had happened to other employees before). But it was not his boss that Bard found on the doorstep, and his expression immediately turned to concern. "SkĂĄggi?" Bard ushered the elf inside, his eyes wide as he took in his friend's appearance. "What's happened to you, are you alright?" He took a step back from the door to give SkĂĄggi room to enter. He knew better than to try to physically support SkĂĄggi just yet - the elf was prone to unpredictable aggression, and Bard didn't want to provoke him.
