Lana was having dinner when she heard the door opened and something fall on the floor. Grabbing her Power Glove in case it was dangerous she went into the front hall and gasped at the form laying on the ground.
“Dedede?”
How did he get here? And more important what happened to him? After checking him over she noticed how bruised he was but couldn’t detect any more severe injuries. Picking him up she placed him on the couch and asked R.O.B to scan him.
A rare sight was in Dream Land during the night, as a young human was sleeping on the fields. Bundled under a robe of red, he yawned and let bangs of blue to flow over his forehead.
Lana hadn’t really gone exploring for a long time and so had decided to take a day to look through some of the worlds she’d never been to. She stepped through one portal and entered a world that appeared to be Dream Land, although it appeared to be night this time. She started walking and soon came across a tree with a strangely familiar looking boy sleeping under it.
He scowled at her once she said that and huffed, before sitting back with a slight smirk.
“Ya gotta admit, least I’m tha brave ‘un to actually form kiss in’ contact on her…” He certainly had a way of teasing. Well, she deserved it.
Lana halted at that comment and turned back to Dedede. That was it, the teasing was going too far now and needed to stop before things got too personal.
“You know, I still stand by my feelings that it’s not safe for someone to be out here in the middle of the night, especially now that I know that it’s you. So how about I help you back to your castle.”
Before Dedede knew what was happening Lana had lifted him up and over her shoulder and started walking towards the castle.
Dedede paused when she stopped, where she had the most neutral expression ever. He was expecting anger or a huge blush on her cheeks.
Instead, he got a different response, something that made her sound concerned that he shouldn’t be out here in the dark… despite that he does this all the time.
Dedede felt one giant metallic gauntlet and a normal hand lift him like he was that lightweight. “Wait, what are you-” and then his entire weight was being pressed onto her shoulder, where he found himself staring at the passing ground and her feet. “Hey! Put me down immediately!” he complained, kicking his legs like he was a child.
“Sorry your highness but as the protector of Videoland it is my duty to make sure that everyone is safe and that’s what I intend to do.”
She didn’t even attempt to hide the joking laughter that was slipping out. Instead she just readjusted her hold on him so his squirming would make her drop him and continued on.

Lana tensed when Foxy’s reaction to the first flash was to growl and crouched to lunge at her but let out a relieved breath when his eyes glitched like the recording said and left. How was this already more stressful than fighting through an army of the undead?
She then checked the cameras to see how far Toy Bonnie had gotten. She didn’t see him anywhere but noticed that Toy Chica was about to enter the vents. Oh that was just great. Not seeing Toy Bonnie anywhere she realized where he must be and slammed a hand on the light over the right vent, Freddy head ready to be put on as soon as she saw the animatronic.
The little blue rabbit laughed- though he began to glitch as Lana put on the mask too quick for his sensors to recognize a human face, he got out of the vent and walked up to the desk, getting right into Lana’s face.
“So you’re the-t̺̏͐̕h̠̑̄ͯ̿͐͡ͅẹ̹͒̂̈́͌͘-t̛̖͇̣̳̳̽̌̒͌̈͋̿͆h͖́̓̚͠͡e̪̻̖̯̼̻̗̘̓̀̔̏̐͂͂ͧ͝-the fresh meat Chiquita found, huh?” he asked with a buck-toothed grin. “Sha-Sha-Shame you di-d̨į-d͡i-d͑̇ͩ͒͛͝͠҉i̶͌̑-d̴̵̢̹̰̝̰͔̂ͦͥ̌̄i̤̜̯ͭ̅͢-di-didn’t come sooner; four hours į̶sn͢'̛͘t̛-isn’t enough for me!”
From where she was in the vents, Toy Chica rolled her eyes. Bon-Bon was sooo getting told off for wasting time… She kept to within view of the vent camera for now. She couldn’t help but recall the last time she was in this position- Toy Bonnie just leaving (as he was now), and the music box rapidly running out as she made her move to grab Mr. Smith… Lucky for Lana that she was hesitating now, and that same scenario would be therefore prevented now that Toy Bonnie was out of the way.
Lana found herself in the very strange situation of fearing for her life and resisting the urge to make a sarcastic remark. As glitched and broken as that sentence was the smugness was still conveyed clearly. Deciding the the best compromise to these feelings and safest cores of action was to stay still and hope that Toy Bonnie got board and left she did her best to give no reaction. It was hard to see in this mask and she couldn’t wind up the music box while wearing it, which was something she didn’t have a lot of time left on. It was getting pretty pressing she wind it up before Toy Chica got into the room too.

“Well,…” He then plopped down. “Have fun with savin’ tha princess…”
“I’m sure, but honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if you got the chance to do it in the future given my luck.”
Lana stood up and started her way back to the portal. She then stopped and turned back to Dedede.
“Yeah and you have fun kissing your queen.”

Night Shift
Ok so now Mangle was accounted for but Foxy wasn’t showing up on any of the cameras. That could only mean one thing.
She grabbed her flashlight and shown it down the hall in front of her. Sure enough Foxy was there. Now she just had to get him to go away before Toy Bonnie got out of the vents. She flicked her light a few times as instructed while having the other hand on the Freddy head, ready to put it on as soon as she could.
At the initial shine of the flashlight, Foxy went down on all fours and growled; his hook hand outstretched, preparing to bolt towards the office and lunge. However, as Lana flashed the flashlight, Foxy’s eyes began to visibly glitch. After the fourth flash, the fox recoiled from the office and made a pained sound. His head sparked and hissed. He ended up wandering off back into the dark, back to the Parts and Service room until it came time for him to try again.
Meanwhile, a little blue bunny found his way to the vent’s blind spot. And while Lana was distracted, Toy Chica herself made it off the stage as well, making a beeline for the party room that lead into the opposite office vent.

Dedede laughed even harder as he was pushed forward, definitely acting like the embarrassing twin who loved to mock the relatives.
“What? Ya started it with Queen Ripple, so don’t I have ev'ry right to fight back?” he said, before he leaned against a tree and crossed his arms over his chest with a smirk. “So,… when are ya really gonna tell her? Can’t hide nothin’ for long, y'know.”
Lana sighed, she really didn’t have and argument without looking like a hypocrite.
“Ok fine I deserve getting teased too, but that was still too far.”
She placed her head in a hand trying to recompose herself and make the blush die down.
“I don’t know. I’ve waited so long that I really don’t know how to. We’ve started hanging out more, so… soon I guess?”
“Ha! Serves ya right!” Dedede gloated, before sitting down once again on the ground. He crossed his human legs, now getting used to them instead of large yellow feet poking out of his lower-half.
“Well, y'all tell her some day. Jus’ don’t forget, lift her in ya arms and go ‘how ha doin’ baby,’” the King said before grinning and placing both hands behind his head.
“I’d say give her tha ol’ razzle dazzle.”
Lana rolled her eyes but sat down as well.
“Razzle Dazzle isn’t really my thing but I’ll tell her eventually. A crush that’s lasted this long is obviously something important and I can’t keep ignoring it forever.”

Lana relaxed a bit to see it had just been Freddy standing up. That worry was back when she saw that Foxy wasn’t in the shadows anymore. She quickly flipped through the cameras to try and find him only to see that both Mangle and Toy Bonnie had moved. Great this was getting more intense by the minute.
She got the flashlight and Freddy head ready still looking to see where the two foxes went.
Mangle wasn’t hard to find; they showed up right in the foreground of a Party Room camera. Unfortunately, Foxy wouldn’t show up on any of the cameras. He was not only fast, but stealthy; he would already be in the hallway out in front of Lana, in the shadows, getting ready to pounce.
Foxy being in the hallway would be one thing, but echoing through the pizzeria now was the sound of something crawling through the vents. Should Lana check the cameras, that something would be Toy Bonnie.

Dedede knew exactly how to make her even redder that it wouldn’t be recognisable in the colour chart. So, he darted up onto his feet and clasped his hands together.
“A'ight, here’s how ya should tell her. Ya go back to Hyrule an’ march alla way to tha castle. Then, ya write her a text sayin’ that ya wanna meet her up at tha lake.”
Then a grin came onto his face. “When she comes, ya go to tha first tier of sayin’ ya like her hair an’ perfoom. Say what ya like ‘bout her an’ whisk up some flowers like some magic dude! Go alla way 'til ya go to hugs an’ stuff.”
He clapped both hands together, giant grin never leaving his face. “Then, ya say what ya think 'bout her, yadda-yadda, an’ when she returns it…” he turned around and did the whole kissing yourself action with hands gripping his shoulders. “Ooh, Lana… I love you too, you big soft serve…” Before he hunched over and burst out laughing.
Well Dedede was certainly right about the color Lana’s face turned at that. If it got any hotter her cheeks would have burst into flames.
“Ok that’s enough.”
She shoved Dedede to get him to stop his overdramatic pretend kissing and unrealistic sweet talk.
“Ugh you’re worse than Keven and Link combined. I really need to stop telling teenage boys about this.”
Night Shift
Lana waited in the office as she flipped through the video and making sure the music box was wound. As Chica promised nothing really looked out of place until 2:00.
Of course when 2:00 did come Lana was worried at seeing on of the cameras glitch and Toy Bonnie no longer on the stage. Keeping her panic down she flipped through the feeds and finally found where he was. Ok that wasn’t so bad he still wasn’t anywhere near the office. She then checked the parts and service room to see what had made that laugh.
What had made that laugh was the original Freddy Fazbear. When checking him earlier, he had been carelessly on the floor as if dumped there with his top hat next to him; but now he was standing, hat perched between his ears. At the same time, there was one less shape (that of a fox, to be exact) in the darkness slightly off-camera.
Speaking of foxes, the other one had started moving, too. Mangle was no longer on the floor of Kid’s Cove, now out and about the restaurant but thankfully not near the office. …Yet. In the meantime, Toy Bonnie moved to the next party room, about to enter the vents.
The others had been itching to move… Toy Chica knew they would go for it. Especially with only four hours to catch the girl…

Dedede WAS aware that there were many Links as there was of Zelda’s; timelines messes things up as there was a past, a future and another where the hero loses. “Guessin’ tha hero was friend-zoned, huh? Didn’t wanna get tha gal like in most games show that.”
He leaned a bit forward. “Soooo, ya spilled tha beans?”
“More like several great aunt, but yeah something like that. And no the Zelda I like didn’t friend zone anyone because there was no one to friend zone. Like is said there are 2 Zeldas in that time line the one who was cursed and the decedent that was named after her. So if Link is with any Zelda, which actually I’m not even sure of, he’s with the decedent. Look it’s confusing I know but what part of that world isn’t? Short story is I’m in love with the Zelda that isn’t ruling Hyrule.”
Lana sighed, it was always confusing explaining that to people. Just then her face burned red at Dedede’s question. “Well… I um…no not really.”
Great. Now the emotionless confused expression once again. Gears winding, factory whistles blowing loudly and dozens of little men in overalls and helmets leave their designated workplace in a line to hit the pub.
Why must everything in the Zelda world be confusing? Here in the Kirby world, it’s simple as a child’s drawing; here, it’s as mind-boggling as that horror game with all the robot animals and the game with teens and hearts and key swords.
JUST MAKE IT LIKE THE ORIGINAL GAME WITH LITTLE TO NO STORY.
“Soooooo, uhhhh… that’s it?
Wait, ya never told her? Ohhh, so when ya goin’ to tell her?”
Lana groaned. She knew Dedede wouldn’t drop it once she told him that Zelda didn’t know.
“Look we met when Video Land was being attacked by a group of villains trying to take over all of the connecting worlds and she’d only recently woke up from her sleep. Neither of us were really looking for a relationship back then. Once it was over we only saw each other occasionally. She was busy governing the Hyrule colony and I’ve been busy keeping Video Land safe. I’ll tell her when I feel a relationship will actually work.”
