We’ve already seen each other today in this post, but this time — at the very end of 2025 — I want to write something different here. For the first time, not about Sims 4 mods… but just about me. About what this year was like for me — and to make a few New Year promises, because… if not in a blog, then where?
I can’t say this year was a bad one. I’ve had worse — not only because of personal reasons, but also because of everything happening in the world. Still, this year made me work really hard and change my life in a very serious way.
I started this year in Germany, in Düsseldorf, being on vacation from my job at a supermarket, spending my free time on fanfiction, games, books, anime and my own long-term fic. I’ll be starting the next year in Thailand — doing freelance work for now, going to a Thai language school and alongside my other hobbies, learning something completely new: creating content for The Sims 4.
The changes are huge — but I’m glad I took this step. From January to September I had to work a lot: saving money, making plans, gathering courage. And then I moved to another country, quit my job, found a new hobby and decided to learn a new language.
Was I scared? Yes.
Was everything unclear? Yes.
Were there doubts? Absolutely — especially when difficulties appeared.
But I don’t regret anything. And I’m not writing this as some kind of “motivation” speech or inspirational nonsense. I’m writing this because I was scared, but I tried — and for the first time in my life, I feel like I didn’t mess it up.
This year was difficult, but I’m happy. Happy because I gained more than I had before. Because I gained faith in the fact that I’m still capable of learning something new — that new things are still within my reach.
So what do I promise myself for the next year?
Very simple things:
— learn Thai
— find a new job
— learn how to make even more beautiful and higher-quality content, especially fandom-based
— get closer to finishing my fanfiction
— stay healthy
— and finally stop worrying so much… and just live
That’s it. And in a year, we’ll see what comes of it.
And to you, once again, I wish a wonderful New Year — not only the holiday itself, but the year as a whole. I wish that everything you’ve planned truly comes true.
Thank you for being with me this year.
Thank you for supporting my new beginnings.
Thank you for being interested, for reading, for caring.
Sending you a big hug — and see you soon!
With love, Proto ❤️
