The Umbrella Academy has such well thought out characters concepts like
Luther has super strength and was titled Number 1? He feels like he's carrying a massive weight on his shoulders, constantly trying to please his father while lowkey turning against his siblings because he's acting more like their leader than their brother
Diego is Number 2, his powers are less flashy, more sneaky, but he still wants to come out looking string because damnit, he doesn't want to be second place, that's why he still goes out as a vigilante as an adutl, to prove that he's worthy
Allison can bend others to do what she says, but as a consequence, nothing in her life feels real, nothing is earned, because it wasn't, she was the only one with cheat codes and she used them. Except she discovered that using cheat codes can get you banned from a game
Klaus powers are freaking him out, seeing what no one else can see. Everything is so out of his control. But drugs numb the powers, make the ghosts go away, choosing to do drugs is his way of taking control
Five knew just what kind of guy Reginald was, but he also thought he was smarter than Reginald. Only it turns out he wasn't and he suffered the consequence. He was stuck all alone. He probably regretted all the times he used his powers to get on top of everyone else during training only to smirk at them because now he couldn't even say sorry anymore. Lila, following what her mother figure says, adapting to her whims, lying to people she seriously starts to form a connection with because of it, even though her powers are connected to these very people.
