“hey, am i good to throw out this leftover chili? it looks like it’s gonna grow legs and crawl right out of this tupperware...” it’s called to the male from the kitchen, dinah attempting to keep herself busy so that she doesn’t drive herself insane looking for clues in the files bruce had sent them. she was happy to be on standby but the lack of information they had to work with was frustrating, and a bit worrying. when there’s no answer, she’s leaning her frame against the doorway to the living room. “hey, robin hood, i’m talking to you,” she teases before abandoning the kitchen to join him at the table. “there’s nothing there we haven’t seen before, babe. give yourself a break,” hands glide against broad shoulders, giving a squeeze to the tense muscles. “if you keep squinting like that you’re gonna get a forehead wrinkle. do you wanna end up like bruce? in your forties and aging worse than alfred?”
⌜ ⁰⁰¹ dinah lance. diane guerrero. she/her. cisfemale. ⌟ looks like DINAH LANCE has joined the search for the missing mutants. the THIRTY FIVE YEAR OLD is known as the BLACK CANARY and works alongside THE BIRDS OF PREY. they were spotted recently in GOTHAM, hopefully they’ll have some luck finding the missing mutants.

so being the black canary was kinda in dinah’s blood, as her father was a cop in gotham city and her mother was the first and OG black canary
when dinah was just nineteen, she decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a crimefighter, much to her mother’s dismay. it’s around this time that dinah discovered her canary cry - a metagene that gave dinah a sonic attack. this allowed her immense control over her vocal chords, as well as the ability to mimic sounds and generate any sound she desires. her ‘canary cry’ has been able to reach 300 decibels, which is enough to make a person’s ears start bleeding even if they’re not the attack target
it didn’t take long for dinah to join the justice league, as her mother was apart of the justice society of america
while working with the justice league, dinah and oliver queen (aka green arrow) got rather close and ended up having a whirlwind (albeit at times turbulent) romance. she even up and left gotham when ollie decided to leave the jl & continue his work in star city
dinah was has been trained by wildcat, who was a former heavyweight champion of the world, in the art of boxing, muay thai, capoeira, krav maga, and hapkido. she was also trained in dragon style kung fu and pressure point fighting by richard dragon. thanks to wonder woman, dinah has been trained in amazon martial arts, but is strictly a novice in that kind of fighting style. other styles she’s shown skill in include savate, judo, aikido, jujitsu, wing chun, and tae kwon do
dinah’s a natural born leader and strategic thinker when it comes to missions and such which landed her chairwoman of the JLA
