An Open Letter To the Starkid Roleplaying Fandom
I love you, more than I can put into words. This goes for all of you. I don’t care if you joined the fandom yesterday or if you’ve been here from the beginning, I love you.
If you just joined, there’s something you should probably know something though--- you haven’t joined a fandom. You’ve joined a family. A family that will love you unconditionally. I have only been in this fandom for five months, and yet I’ve made some of my closest friends through it. We are a small fandom, but we are family. We care about each other, and it’s part of what makes this fandom so special.
To those who have been here since long before I began writing Achmed, thank you. Thank you for welcoming me into this fandom with open hearts and arms. Five months ago, I was doing my best to hide it as I fell deeper into depression once again. It didn’t take long for me to stop having to hide, because I found that this family--- you were and are one of the best things in my life.
Below are a few notes for people who have really affected me, tagged with the blog that I’ve seen them active on the most recently or they’re most likely to see. It just means a lot to me to get out there.
You know I adore you. Your writing is amazing and your grasp on your characters is amazing. You are legitimately an inspiration for me. I love you, in character and out of character. You are amazing and I adore seeing you on my dash with every blog you make. My continually dragging you headfirst into new fandoms comes from a place of love, and I am so glad I can call you my friend.

You may be a kumquat, but you’re my kumquat. You’re one of the few people who can give me a run for my money on the sheer number of blogs, but you still manage to bring something special and distinct to each and every muse you write. There’s something special about the way you write and characterize your muses, and take someone with very little in the way of information and give them life. I love you and it means the world to me that you’re my friend.

We don’t talk much anymore, but that’s okay. There’s something I never told you though that I want you to know. Your portrayal of the princess was the final reason I joined the starkid fandom. Everyone else was fantastic, but there was something so distinct about the way you wrote her that just drew me in. I still reread our old threads sometimes. I do that with everyone, but Achmed and the Princess will always have a special spot in my heart as my first ship in this fandom. I’m still not sorry for liveblogging emotional fanfic to you, but I am sorry I haven’t made more effort to stay in touch.
You know that I adore you. If I ever had a shipping soulmate, it’s you. I have so much love for you, it’s not even funny. You have been there for me through so much in the short time we’ve known each other, and I will never cease to be anything but forever grateful for all you’ve done for me. If we weren’t about as far apart as we could get while still remaining in the same country, I would probably find a way to give you real physical hugs a lot. Like a lot a lot. Believe me if I had a way to get to New York that easy I would be there in a heartbeat (though you might lose me to broadway at first). Tup is perfection, but you are even better.

I’ll be the first to admit I don’t know you as well as I wish I did. You’ve given me some great relationship advice in the past, but in all honesty, I am envious of your writing skills. On Sherezade, on Adele, on Richard--- you never cease to amaze me. Your grasp of character is phenomenal, and I lowkey wish I’d written with you more when I had the chance.
