just saw the film "my old ass" and honestly, i cannot shake the feeling that this was basically lesbian erasure. it really came across to me as something like, "you're a lesbian until you find the right man" type of shit that i've heard myself countless of times. the movie was great, but this subplot was not something i enjoyed. main character admitted herself that she was only exclusively into women and suddenly the right guy comes in and it all changes. i feel like this narrative is so harmful. perhaps if the movie tackled this differently, it would be better?? but still, this does not sit right with me. it felt like people were lured into thinking this was going to be a lesbian romance. while i understand this is the reality for some people, it really just felt like this fell into the "just haven't found the right guy" kind of trope.
“Okay, but if you weren't young and dumb, you'd never fucking be brave enough to do anything. If you knew how shitty and unfair life would be, you'd never leave your house. You'd never enjoy spending time with anyone because you'd just be thinking about the fact that they're gonna die someday. But when you're young and dumb, you don't even think about that. And that's what lets you actually live.”

You will perceive love from everything around you.
Take a moment. Put the troubles behind. See the beauty in the surroundings. Let it relax your mind. Look how the sun shines in the afternoon. Embrace it.. Love it.. As Don Miguel Ruiz said in his book "The four agreements" what you will see is love coming out of the trees, love coming out of the sky, love coming out of the light. You will perceive love from everything around you. This is the state of bliss.🍀
.
“It’s not important if you reject me because I don’t reject myself. In my story, I live in an ongoing Romance, and Everything is beautiful for me. To live in Love is to be alive again.”
— Don Miguel Ruiz
PRAYER FOR LOVE
Thank you, Creator of the Universe, for the gift of life you have given me. Thank you for giving me everything that I have ever truly needed. Thank you for the opportunity to experience this beautiful body and this wonderful mind. Thank you for living inside me with all your love, with your pure and boundless spirit, with your warm and radiant light.
Thank you for using my words, for using my eyes, for using my heart to share your love wherever I go. I love you just the way you are, and because I am your creation, I love myself just the way I am. Help me to keep the love and the peace in my heart and to make that love a new way of life, that I live in love the rest of my life.
Amen. 🌻

“Don’t take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.”
— Don Miguel Ruiz
Sometimes you gotta stop worrying about being the smartest and funniest person in the room and just enjoy being in a room with smart and funny people
I really implore y'all to stop letting the need to prove yourself get in the way of just enjoying life and the people you share it with. I'm using the word "implore" so y'all know I'm serious about it, btw
