i managed to get up at 6:30, yay! i’ve had way too much coffee already, but oh well. at least i’m motivated. today’s to do list is:

listen to the news and a french podcast

pack some moving boxes

continue reading about catalogue theory, start reading the female grotesque by mary russo, and (hopefully) finish das gemeindekind

go over to my best friend’s place to pet her cats, have some tea, and dye my hair. red!

reply to messages and emails. my least favorite part of the day >:(

prep some work sheets and grammar games for the upcoming semester

teach a German class

enjoying the last day of sunshine before a forecasted WEEKS of rain!!! omg! over the last few weeks i've learned that i need to step away from theory and just jump into my data. going to spend the next couple days just sifting through my data and figuring out what's going on before i keep reading.

Autumn is here. The leaves are changing colour, it's getting colder and the days are getting shorter.

I'm still trying to get into my rhythm and I still find it hard. All I want to do is slow down but work forces me to speed up. So I'm practicing patience and giving myself grace.

Finally got rid of my old thinkpad, that one had half of its keyboard non-functional, amongst many other problems. Really been using it for too many years.

The M1 Air is so cost effective when you have student discount, thank you UNiDAYS, saved my damn life.

the first academic week of my last year in grad school is now finished :)

tomorrow i have a training shift at my new job, then i’ll go to the big main branch of the city library to read and complete assignments for next week’s classes and (try) to start writing my thesis.

on Friday i want to see “honey, don’t” with my roommate. and this weekend i might go home to visit my grandmother and cousin.

waiting on the book i requested from the library to arrive, and hoping that waking up gets easier, eventually.

Currently studying the naming of functional groups in organic chemistry. Anyone taking up chemistry as their major is amazing. I don't even know how I survived inorganic chem because there are so many computations. This one is a little easier though (I think; I hope I'm understanding things correctly).

september 17, 2025 ☕️ cinnamon lattes are basically keeping me sane. later last night, i decided to journal and threw myself into a crisis. time is going so fast, i have two weeks to finish an article and six weeks to have at least a full draft of my final thesis. sometimes i think i won't make it in time

maybe finish reading that thesis??? almost there, though
