ok shit i wanna talk about this. there is NO way you’d get a fruit cup, a cookie, mashed potatoes, AND peas. you get one of those. two if you buy the cookie separately. and the fucking nuggets??? TEN?????? show me a public school where they serve you TEN nuggets. we got 4. that shit was like the holy grail of lunches. kids were tempted to pick em out of the trash. don’t even get me started on the tater tot economy with these lunches, those things were pretty much worth their weight in gold. i’d see people buy three lunches just for the side of tater tots, and throw the rest away

in my high school they put in a couple of vending machines because the lines to get lunch were so long that class would start just as most students got their lunch. there were only two lines for “full” lunches and probably 3/4 of the students in line actually got food. soon enough most students opted for the vending machines and their lunches were plastic wrapped danishes and doritos

today in germany i paid $0.50 for a massive serving of yummy seasoned salmon with broccoli mushroom alfredo sauce on top, and a cucumber tomato & feta cheese salad side. i also got a block of Toblerone for free.

Yeah the vegetables are actually a joke and the mashed potatoes are the instant kind which makes it look flaky. School lunch is trash and the vending machines at my school are only open for an hour. No organizations at school can sell chips or soda for fundraisers or anything else that hasn’t been approved by the district…. Also people find bugs in their salad and not a damn thing gets done about it when they show pictures of it to administration

Are we really going to sit here and settle for hairs in our mashed potatoes, while that kid in Germany just paid $0.50 for a gourmet meal and is currently happily living their lives without a single care in the lunch world? If Obama can give us two free years of college, I say with enough effort we can at least give the children of America a decent lunch.
