Hello loves! I'll be on hiatus until this Friday 2/27. I fully meant to catch up this past week, which you can see, did not actually end up happening. But I hope to have life a bit more under control by then! See you soon x

So...I can camp out at the apartment and enjoy my night in peace without having to go to any of these parties, right?
Ah, Miriam.
Somehow I feel like if I had tried to smash him in, I would have got more smashed. I’ve not got any kind of powers, unless writing skills are a superpower now.
I’m sorry. People make me ashamed of my species sometimes. I hope you’re right, and they do come round. It’s all so polarised with the elections at the moment that I’m concerned they won’t, though.
Yeah I s'pose the smashing should be left for the Hulk. Sure they are, rare ones too.
That's alright, shit happens. That's very true actually, especially with even more anti-mutant sentiments rising now. Any predictions you want to call?
Queen L || Gossip Girl AU - Open
People love gossip about the old money families. They’re all talking about the new blast all of a sudden. Lily’s mother being a fashion designer, the Russells are more new money - which doesn’t mean the gossipmongers are any less interested in her. Smiling at her friend, and at the wine - she’s not an expert like her father, but it looks pretty good - she hugs her back. “If you bring me alcohol like that, you’re always forgiven. I knew I could count on you, Wanda.”
Wanda smiled, pulling back but not before giving Lily's shoulders a reassuring squeeze. "I've always got your back," she stated, one shoulder raised in a shrug and a hint of a smile on her face. "Now c'mon, warm me up to this party why don't you? You've out done yourself again Lils." She stated, looping arms with her best friend and leading her into the crowd.

"I agree!" Iris nodded, a touch of sadness to her expression. "I do not share it often. but I do feel much loneliness. So much travelling and so many people, but no opportunity to make memories." Iris gratefully accepted a cup of nectar, the warmth a welcomed comfort.
Hecate nodded, her smile only growing. "I know the sentiment. It's a lonely existence for us goddesses, is it not? Always cleaning up the mess the gods leave behind and watching over our realms to uphold the honor of our legends." She states with an exaggerated sigh serving only to illuminate the humor laced through her words.

MJ grinned at her reply, jumping slightly in her chair. She was extremely excited, partly because she had a tiny buzz, and partly because not many people she knew came to her shows. Sure, it was nice to see people admiring you and what you do, but it always meant more coming from a familiar face - whether they were best friends or acquaintances. “Awesome, even if half or the majority of the reason is really your annoying roommate, I’m still glad you’re coming.” She said, smiling softly now while she laughed. Though their conversations were usually only small talk, it was nice to have someone to go to talk about the little, irrelevant things. Most people don’t befriend their bartenders, but maybe this could lead to a new friendship, closer than Wanda serving her drinks. Mary Jane collected her purse and paid, along with leaving a tip for Wanda. “I’ll see you at the show. Maybe if things work out, you could get a new roommate.” She joked, smiling as she headed for the door.
Wanda grinned wide in response to MJ's words, her week seeming brighter now that she had something to look forward to and break the monotony of her usually gray life. She laughed at her words, saluting the girl with a smile as she exited. "Fingers crossed" She stated with a smile, wiping down the counter before getting back to work.

"If I thought it would do any good, I would go down and end it all myself, of course, it just so happens to be forbidden. I swear, we will not be granted our freedom until the entire world is burning, and we must go to extinguish the flames. Even then, we will be kept on a leash." Biting off the last word, Artemis took a moment to try and cool her spirit. Hecate had done no wrong, it was unfair to unleash rage on her. "I am sure it will be, but how can we fix it? Their technology calls us myths; unless you would like to break all rules and go visit, we shall remain history."
There is a growing fire within the words of her companion, Hecate can feel its spitting burn that can cut deep if it allowed to flow loose. Her lips upturn in a smile reflecting an eerier expression as she tilts her head in allowance. "Myths, indeed. Harsh words, but they could not ring truer. Not many are willing to admit it, they are intent in living in blissful ignorance." Hecate states, her voice a controlled storm. "Well, we've handled the wrath of the gods and goddesses before, both in our terms. Perhaps all we need are...more willing supporters to storm this fort. Gain support so we can take action." She stated, her gaze meeting Artemis's. "This is no shape a democracy, but several autocracies working in unison--all we need is a sole cause to unite us." A cross of her legs, graceful fold of her hands. "Of course, we're talking about rewriting the world as the morals know it...but it would not be the first time we have done so."

Thinking back to the child, Hephaestus tried to find the proper words for describing the young fisherman’s son. “He is wise beyond his years, and he is trying to use his hands to make something. I watch him and see him try, see him strive for a sort of unity with objects and building. I wish to aid him, allow him to help his village as much as possible.” With a grin, he rubbed at his knuckles and tried to ease the small ache. “What about you? Anyone worth helping?” With her reply, he rolled his eyes and offered her a small chuckle. “Hecate, I have missed you and your little comments. They are a welcome change.”
Hecate could feel the shadow of a smile settle onto her face, as thin and fleeting as that of its impostor. The child did indeed sound like a wonder, a mortal with potential. Those were rare to find, no matter what the age. "Well I am glad to hear of this good fortune Hephaestus, I am sure he shall flourish under your guidance," she says, a bow of her head to emphasize the sincerity of the sentiment. Her expression softens at his question, a slight sigh escaping her. "There are many with potential...but it is hard to find someone of a strong soul and clear mind. My realms can be a tricky verse, can cloud the mind--and if its participants are not adept, well, they can swallow them whole." She stated, a small shake of her head following the statement. She had yet to find a suitable candidate, but Hecate could wait. Patience was a virtue of hers.

Tony laughed quietly. “I’m going to need another drink,” he said, pointing at one of the bottles behind the bar. The media was not his best friend these days; perhaps they had been on better terms when he’d played out the role they’d wanted—when he’d drank too much (tonight was really an anomaly) and spent too much and sold weapons where he shouldn’t. Now that he was actually trying to do good, that particular relationship had weakened considerably—funny enough. “You’ve got a face for TV. You ever tried it?” he asked her.
A chuckle escaped her as she abandoned her drink to go prepare the man another drink. She made quick work of it, hands seasoned as they slid the glass to him. Tony Stark. Huh, who would've thought. Wanda knew better than to trust the media's representation of anything, but it was strange to disassociate a face she'd only ever seen on T.V., and majorly criticized, for that matter--in such a casual setting. He didn't seem a thing like the Stark they slandered every evening on the local news. But then again, what was she to know. She scoffed humorously at his words, taking another swig of a beer after serving a loitering customer, raising a brow at him. "You grouping me with the toxic media types?" She asked, making her words stern but her tone light to match the joke.
Never Can Tell ❈ Sue & Wanda
"Fair enough." Sue responded simply. Her curiosity was growing, not recognizing the voice, but she wasn’t going to ask - not yet. Continuing to check her phone, more earnestly now as an actual email had been received, something she would genuinely focus on for a moment.
Richard alerting her that he would be late for their dinner tonight, finding something to get himself lost in while in the labs no doubt. Sue wasn’t going to respond, not to nag - nagging was something that could be done better in person. A soft sigh escaped her lips, however, as with a roll of her eyes she would drop her phone into her jacket pocket.
Stepping forward, closer to the platform as if she might spot the train arriving, the board calling that they would have another five minutes to go, she stepped back again to lean against the wall. “I like the shadows sometimes too, you know.” A reply that would come much later, indulging in idle chit chat as what else was there to do? “Nice to be left alone sometimes… but I’m completely interrupting that, aren’t I?” she asked, turning over to see the face, smiling softly.
The woman's voice is a soft embrace in the silence, nothing harsh or dissonant against the peace Wanda had been enjoying. Though the conversation is short, the woman returning to the device on her hand as Wanda is left to her own devices again. And she doesn't mind it, used to the empty silence only perturbed by the white noise of the chatter around her.
And then the voice is back, the smile on the woman's face just as soft as her tone--not unpleasant, Wanda notes. She offers a tilt of her head, her mouthends rising in the slightest grace of a smile as she purses her lips at the words. "Idle chat with a stranger wasn't on the agenda, however it is not...unpleasant." She says, which for her standards is very viably trusting of a mere stranger. Wanda was not a very social person by nature, and communication with strangers that the phone had managed to contact was different--because Wanda knew those were relatively trustworthy individuals, related to Fury.
This was different. This was a mere stranger at a subway. But Wanda knew how to protect herself, and she'd come to learn that aligning to idle chit chat as a form of social customs was far better at keeping her inconspicuous than the opposite.
Describe a verbal way you would express complete trust.
"Cover me"
Do you care if people talk badly about you?
What others think or speak of me is none of my concern. People run their mouths all the time, I'm not going to lose sleep over that.
Think back 2 months ago; were you in a relationship?
No, and for good reason.
did you have a dream last night?
I would call them more of nightmares, really.
are you seriously happy with where you are in life?
Happiness is like a…rare commodity. Not available for all. You learn to live a full life without it. That is what I have done.
Long Day || Bartender AU
Nodding in agreement with a smile on her face, she sat on the bar stool. “Definitely is necessary sometimes, whether I get in trouble or not.” She sat there, thinking about the days events and also the future events she’d need to deal with later this week - like the theater. MJ had a show this Friday, which was stressful but calming at the same time. Maybe she’d invite Wanda to come, even though they weren’t exactly close friends. “If you’d rather be here your roommate must be something else. I’ve been working, really. Other than that not much, as sad as it sounds I’ve got a show this weekend.” Stated Mary Jane, a smug smile on her lips. “You’re welcome to come watch if you’d like.”
A few had seen her shows; Aunt May, Aunt Anna, and some others. She had seen what looked like Peter a few times recently, but she couldn’t be sure. He popped up on rare occasions, it seemed. “It may be sort of entertaining, who knows. That, or it could bore you to death. ” MJ said, chuckling slightly
Wanda nodded at her words, wiping down a side of the counter before posing a short fist pump. "Certainly necessary, stick it to the man, right" She stated, chuckling in response. The customer lines were waning, and the orders lessening, but Wanda was used to the job so the movements of making the drinks came easy to her. She glanced over at MJ once again, her smile growing slightly at the mention of the play. Wanda knew Mary Jane was an actress, she'd heard about it in their talks, but she'd never actually visited the theater she played at. "I think I'd like to drop by, yeah" She said, nodding at the proposition.
She couldn't help but chuckle at her following statement, tilting her head to the side. "Eh, I think I'll risk it" Wanda teased, shrugging in response. She as only teasing of course, Wanda was already looking forward to it. "What can I say, that roommate of mine really grates on my nerves" She added, sticking with the gentle teasing as she served collected the empty glasses from the counter.
