Growing up, Asher was always around sports, his dad used to take him to soccer games and he loved watching the games as a young boy. He was very taken by the sport and all sports, if he wasn't with his dad at soccer games he was watching all kind of sports games on television. Asher was very close with his family, even when he was a moody teenager and would always do anything to not be at home. However he was easily sweet talked into doing things with the family. It wasn't a surprise to anyone when Asher was getting into playing sports, such as football or basketball. It was more of a surprise when he got into Ice Hockey, he found a love for it because there was more of a skill needed in this with learning how to skate as well.
During his time in High School, he was highly focused on sports especially hockey and he was told by his hockey coach if he worked hard on his grades in high school he might be offered a scholarship to PSU for college which was what he would go to study sports science. He knew although he wasn't a fan of learning the other subjects he needed to work hard to get the scholarship so he was very focused. When he wasn't studying, Hockey was his priority and it was where he made most of his friends at the time. He was very outgoing and would always be at parties and any social events. He did have the nature to sleep around during his high school time, he had his first girlfriend in his Freshman year of high school but they broke up in the summer of their sophomore year. Going into his Junior year he was just having a bit of fun and he used to think it was cool to be like that.
Asher was lucky to get the scholarship to get into PSU and he was set. Going to college was a new lease of life for him, he joined the Ice Hockey team at college as Center and his dad was very proud of that, since that is the quarterback but in hockey terms. He knew that college was the start of his future so doing well in hockey at college was important because that was the career he wanted. His college experience was a fun experience as well as educational, he knew he wanted to work hard for his qualification but also do well in hockey as well as making friends. He got lucky to make some great friends on the team as well as in class and just on campus. In his Junior year, he met Crystal at a party and originally it was just a hook up but then they ended up having a casual relationship that moved to an actual exclusive relationship which was what he was ready for.
Once college had finished, he was lucky to be picked up by the Los Angeles Kings to play for them, he was back up center and on the side a lot until his second year there on his 24th Birthday where he got made permanently their center when the original retired. He was finally living his dream and he got extremely lucky that his girlfriend Crystal supported him through his career. Him and Crystal moved in together not long after college and they were very much in love and he was lucky he had found someone, he didn't think he would.
At 28, his whole life changed, he thought he was going to be playing Hockey professionally for a long time and it was going to be great but he was given the news from Crystal that she was pregnant and he didn't know how to feel, he knew he wanted to be involved as much as possible but he wasn't sure how travelling for work was going to work with a baby. At this point Crystal was happy about being a mom and when she was 6 months pregnant, Asher made the decision it was time to retire and be involved in his child's life and also knew it wouldn't be fair to travel and leave Crystal with a baby. So he spoke to his agent to find out how to become a sports agent and he learnt how to do that.
By the time his son Jasper was 1, he had become a sports agent and was enjoying his job in that. However whilst he was enjoying fatherhood and his new job which was so different to his previous job, Crystal had made the decision she couldn't be a mom so he woke up one morning to a note on the table and considering she was usually in bed whilst he got up for a training session he was already concerned, but he read the note to find out that she had walked out and wanted to live her life and not be a mom. This left him shocked, he was heartbroken, he was preparing to propose to her, he had brought a ring and then she got up and left. He had no clue how he was going to handle his life now being a single parent and also work it was a challenge and he honestly hated it and even 2 years later he resented it and was still learning. Now he was working and just trying to do the best he can.
FAMILY BACKGROUND
If you are a sports fan, specifically a Football fan then you might now Arlo Rutherford who was an amazing football Quaterback in his early 20s which he retired from when him and his wife Odette started their family. He then moved to being a Commentator for Football as well a well known sports agent to stay in the sports world whist his children was growing up. Whilst Odette worked as Lawyer, they worked well to bring up their children and be a working family.
