(Pretty Much)Every Possible Way to Make Money on FR
(See my Helpful Things page for good resources)
Fodder can be bought or hatched into your lair. Selling them as hatchlings on the AH can yield 3-5kt. Waiting until they’re adults, then selling on the AH can yield 6-8kt. Coli leveling will be brought up later.
Slow and steady! With good patience comes pretty good rewards. 89 Days will fully bond a familiar, and will earn you 2980t. Multiply this by however many fams you’re bonding and this is a decent source of side profit.
Selling Gen 1s/Rare Dragons
Oof. This is a very risky and very unpredictable market. An unhatched egg can be sold for ~~200g, but a good Gen1 might go for more. Might. Special IDs or Eyes are also too unpredictable to count on, but can make some nice money for the lucky.
Selling Dragons from Breeding Pairs or Lair Purges
Hatcheries have been doing this for ages! Good genes + Good colors = $$$. Investing in a good breeding pair might take a while, though. Be sure to conduct interest checks and advertise around. Lair purges are easier and can make money faster, but only if you’re willing to give up your dragons for a quick buck.
Giving a Dragon Art/Lore, then Selling it
Depending on how good you are with art/lore, this can boost the price of the dragon you’re trying to sell.
Have nests to spare? Allowing them to be rented can get you a tip, or if you don’t get a tip you can be content with the fact that you helped someone.
Unhatched eggs, bulk food, and Swipp/Baldwin items can be sold for nice prices on the AH. Things like random mats and non-Swipp familiars can be generic sold for good prices too.
Hoarding then Selling Retired/Limited Items
Whether it be Holiday Items, Skins, or other, hoarding items to sell later can give out some very good money if you’re willing to wait. Well over 500kt if it’s properly retired. Don’t believe me? Search for “Thresher Flatfins” on the AH. Those were released only four years ago. Selling items from Night of the Nocturne later in the year will have a similar, if smaller, effect.
General Buying and Reselling
It’s not really frowned upon to buy just to resell, but adding too much of a mark-up can have your username receiving some dirty looks. Just… try not to do it too much with common Marketplace-bought items.
Leveling then Exalting Fodder
Most common way to get money. Depending on your coli team, this can take a short while or a long while, but the rewards are great! A full page all leveled to 7 then exalted makes an average of 225kt!
Selling Money-Maker Drops
Money-Maker drops are Eggs, Rare Apparel, Battle Stones, Genes, and Boss Familiars. All can be sold on the AH for decent(~50kt)-large(~200kt) profits. Note: Battle Stones like Ambush, Berserker, and Eliminate will make money. Good luck with anything else.
Mass Generic Selling Common Drops
After grinding for a long time, you may find your hoard chock-full of random crappy loot and familiars. Check to make sure you can’t use them in Baldwin/Swipp, and if you can’t, go ahead and sell them with your hoard’s sell feature. Higher level venues = Higher sell value items.
Another item grinding thing. Food can be sold for a lot more on the AH than with the generic hoard sell. The profit is based on how much you sell and how many food points there are, but plant food generally sells the worst.
Leveling Coliseum Fighters
This is basically leveling fodder, except you want the level to be higher. Dragons with battle stones, dragons that look pretty, and fully leveled dragons sell better. You can also join/create a leveling service to get paid to level other people’s dragons.
Grinding Swipp Swapp/Baldwin Items
Depending on the item it can make, some of these can be bulk-sold on the AH or used to get expensive items.
I guess if you aren’t up for coli-ing, this is for you, but honestly? Good luck. You can make some money if you’re good at puzzles or patient I guess but some of the games can be pretty glitchy. They don’t really pay out that much either so?? Enjoy your gnarly games you maniacs
Trading at Swipp Swapp and Selling the Traded Item
Good! Money! Maker! Things like the Firefly Gene, the Winter Wolf Cape, and some of the Vistas can make you rich if you’re willing to grind in the coli or gather the resources.
Baldwin Grinding then Selling the Results
Most players easily forget about cooking with Baldwin. Keeping a constant stream of brewed mats can make you money when you bulk sell them on the AH. You can also sell items you brew like genes or apparel.
If you have a high-level cauldron, you can brew things for players and possibly get a tip.
Selling Items/Battle Stones gotten from Pinkerton
After a while of taking things from Pinkerton, you may have gathered some Berserkers and Ambushes, both of which can be sold in bulk on the AH for around 50kt. Other items can’t quite be sold for as much.
Really Grinding Crim’s Collection Cart
After a heady mix of coli and gathering, you’ll probably have some Crim items to give to them. Just, don’t consider these items high-priority. Giving one item to Crim for 300t is definitely outmatched by selling a stack for 3960t.
This is actually a great place for new players to learn about FR’s lore and mechanics! Not so much for getting money though. Pretty much just trivia Crim.
Forum Games/Dominance/Giveaways/Raffles that Issue Prizes
Self-Explanatory. Free money!
Doing Art/Adoptables/Skins
If you’re an artiste, and you like money, this is a good way to make a profit. Doing commissions can make hundreds of thousands of treasure if you’re good.
Writing Lore/Designing Outfits for Money
A bit more of a niche market, but if it makes money, it makes money. Pricing varies greatly!
