Hello and welcome to the VERY OFFICIAL PTR horror AU (working title) Cellular Death development blog
I’ve been meaning to touch this thing for almost a year now, but it wasn’t up until a few months ago when I decided I wanted to kickstart this project and finally give it shape.
This is, essentially, a remake of the original version of my PTR horror AU from amino. An archive of the older content can be seen here.
I always liked the concept idea, but I made the original take when I was ~15, so it has… not aged very well.
Some of you may or may not have already seen the return of the MID redesign showcase (because I advertised it like crazy on almost all my platforms like it was the second coming of christ), so you might have an idea of the kind of tone I wanna shift to when proceeding with this.
As of 2 weeks ago, I had 0 god damn idea how I wanted to approach this project until NOW. I was wrestling between making a generic analog horror series, or a series of TikTok shorts similar to the (now dead) MLP infection AU trend, but, I have decided that…
*drum roll*
… I WILL BE MAKING AN RPG MAKER GAME 🎉🎉🎉🎉
All by myself.
With no help from anyone else.
Yup yup.
In all seriousness, an RPG Maker game feels like the most natural way to showcase my designs and flesh out the story in a way that feels organic, and yes, I plan on this being mostly a solo project, but I appreciate contributions, be it chipsets, charsets, art, music, or anything, so please DM me if you wanna contribute to this project.
As of now, my plans are as follows.
The AU will be split into 4 separate “games”: 4 separate acts:
- Act 1
- Intermission 1
- Act 2
- Intermission 2
- Act 3/Finale
It feels too big for it to occupy only 1 game. I’ve been playing plenty RPG Maker games lately, and the ones that are larger in scale and story are always more tedious to finish or too overwhelming.
The engine I will be working with is RPG Maker 2003. Asides from practically being freeware, I have great attachment to this engine because some of my favorite games (.Flow, OneShot, OFF) were developed in it, even if it’s not the most optimal, I think it’s serviceable for what I want to do with this project.
Of course, I am a college student, so I can’t exactly dedicate my time and soul full on like I probably could’ve some years ago, but it’s still something I’m very passionate about, so I want to dedicate to it as much as I can.
Lastly, about this blog. I will be mostly using it to show updates, WIPs, or misc art, designs or tracks I make for the project!
That is all for this pinned, I hope you will enjoy seeing this AU as much as I enjoy making it ^_^
And remember.
Say hi to Sunny Funny.
