The transit guard’s smile,

Is betrayed by the stress ball,

Squeezed tight in one hand.

Loud man on the phone, In a five minute ride swears, Thirty-seven times.

Slow suffocation, As the bus fills with perfume, Exit gasping air.

Loud conversation, Maniacal giggling, Old lady on phone.

Blaring through headphones, The whole bus can enjoy as Taylor shakes it off.

Imperial March, Chanted in high pitch by a tiny Darth Vader.

Bopping to music Hip hop leaking from headphones Just oblivious.

Small girls block the way Their backpacks big as themselves Clogging the bus aisle.

A late night bus ride, Should I not make it home, Search near museum.

Would have stayed inside, the nice warm bar if I'd checked, the bus timetable.

"...from here," I reply. "Don't worry," the man whispers, "I'm a gypsy too."

Clutching umbrella, Reminds me of Totoro, Waiting for catbus.

Forgot SmartRider, Cash fare seems to change each ride, What is up with that?

The driver bellows, "Move down the bus!" "No room!" the reply.

On a cold morning, The warm bus feels a relief, And makes me sleepy.

In crowds I pretend I'm a giant porcupine, My spines give me space.

Hard to breathe in here, A warm bus without air-con, Atmosphere swamp-like.
