I think Kattigan should get to be pretty. People tend to assume a lot of things based off how he looks. He generally doesn't try to correct them.

being nice to Occtis for once AUs which I won't be writing because I like being mean:

In this AU his family flat out disown him so he ends up still at the Penteveral but cash-strapped and flatsharing with Demodus, who gets the whole deeply unsupportive parents thing and suggests he start going by Occtis Blix.

They keep telling people they're cousins, just for the reactions they get. Demodus gets a job with Hal doing special effects for the theatre and this is how he meets Gus, undercover enjoying a night out at the same bar Hal's crew like to frequent.

The rest of the fic would just be a romantic comedy as Occtis tries to figure out romance so he can play wingman to the Gus/Demodus. Naturally this means he has to try out dating himself, for research purposes of course...

(In the background, Termina is implied to be murdering her way through the Sundered Houses; this has no impact on the main plot at all)
