@rinkforged
"ay, bud," smooth and easy, oliver doesn't bother with being overly formal, it would be pointless. shane's seen him get 'accidentally' checked and taken down by players more times than he'd like to admit. "good game last night. cleaner than it could have been. thanks for not making my life hell."
Eli watches Marjorie for a long moment because she feels like there's something familiar there. Something she can't quite put her finger on. Part of her senses it, doesn't it? Yearns for it. But she doesn't want to be rude and ask. Because that's the one thing you don't do: ask. She pulls herself out of her stupor, snapping back into the moment. "I guess. But we have to keep it kinda kid friendly. I do like watching the thirst traps...uh, sorry, I got a little distracted. Did you want a do over?"
"keeping things kid friendly for a fucking hockey team is crazy." marjorie doesnt mention the obvious — that keeping a team with ilya rozanov as the captain kid friendly is one hell of a job. she lived in boston when he'd been captain of the boston team, she knew how parties featuring him had gone. hell, she'd managed to sneak her way into a cup celebration night at the eighteen, she knew how the man liked to party back then. "i mean, i get it, good pr and all but shit. i've been to some of those parties they have, they get a little crazy."
her fingers flex, the hand holding her phone going limp as she stands upright. "sure, if you don't mind. i mean, i don't have anything to do. public relation internships are kind of fucking boring."

"baby, if you ask me a hockey question right now, i might actually combust." the playoffs were over and oliver was exhausted. he didn't want to think about the sport for the next two weeks at least. what he wanted to do was curl up in bed with his boyfriend and maybe sometimes take haven out to the park and just be normal. he also knew there was a fat chance of any of that happening, hockey had been his life long before des had been, and now that he was starting to get friendly with some of the players, it was inescapable outside of the sanctuary of des's home. "i never want to see a puck again. or a stick. or pads. or just — anyone but you and hav. if my phone rings and it says hollander or — fucking god forbid rozanov — i want you to kill me, okay?"
@rinkholy // for eli
there's a practice ease to marjorie's movements on the ice, a familiarity with the way the hockey skates feel beneath her feet that give away too much, perhaps, too soon. weight pitching left and right with ease as she weaves through the obstacle course of pucks she'd set up hours previous, her attention strangely still set on the phone clutched in her gloved fist. "i don't know, it just seems very boring. i love a good stick handling but, yawn, where's the whimsy and fun? where's the thirst traps? booooo, sometimes management makes this so boring."
ok never mind. starter call for here, specify muse.
