"Why, thank you! That's the best thing that I've heard all day."
"Happy Birthday, Pretty Palutena." Never going to go into exact age, but Hades had included enough candles on the cake.
"You certainly went all out, didn't you?" Palutena narrowed her eyes, eyeing the cake suspiciously as though it were secretly a bomb of sorts. "I hope you don't expect me to douse all of those..."
A letter written in red scratchy Hylian makes its way to Palutena's study. "You've matured nicely this last year. May the upcoming century be as kind to you young one." A Triforce with the top filled in is in the bottom corner.
After getting one of her servants to translate the letter for her--she isn't very experienced in Hylian, after all!--Palutena smiled as the words were read to her. Though she may not enjoy her birthday being recognized, it was still nice to hear such kind words.
A return letter was letter sent out, reading, "Thank you very much. I am not fond of celebration, but the kind thoughts are appreciated nonetheless. -Palutena."
"So I understand that not only are you the one whom Pit obeys, but it is your birthday. For one, congratulations." He bowed. "And two.... just how insolent IS Pit?"
"Pit isn't insolent at all. In fact, he's never discourteous... except when it comes to my birthday. He gets a little over-excited, possibly because he doesn't really know when his own date of birth is. I suppose I can't blame him in that regard."
"I appreciate the sentiment. Thank you."

"I'm not that old! But, thank you, I suppose." Actually, she's older, but she isn't going to mention that.
headcanon; today, july 19th, is the day palutena celebrates her birthday. it's right before the summer solstice, which is the day that the earth has the most sun, so it's fitting, no?
she hates celebrating it, tbh. because it reminds her that shes getting ~*old*~. pit, however, loves to throw parties for her, which she allows just because. well. hes fuckin cute.

i hate that chapter with every fiber of my being oh my god i suck so badly as magnus
to this day i have NO idea how i beat it on 9.0 tbh. i played it on that high of a difficulty as a joke b/c i thought i wouldnt be able to do it and i ended up beating it so uh. hooray???

"You've had your spot in this tournament longer than I," said Elysia, still in the guise of this Robin character. "Tell me, Lady Palutena, are you as nervous or uneasy as I am about this whole affair?"
"Nervous? I wouldn't say so," she mused after a bit of thought, "but after a few practice matches, I must say I am a little out of my element. It's been a while since I've had a proper fight due to my being well-protected... and having formidable foes such as yourself doesn't make things any easier."

Elincia had found the match to be an incredible spectacle… not only was Lord Ike as impressive as always, but he had actually lost, and to a newcomer no less. She found herself intrigued by that other woman… a Goddess, according to the promotional flyers for the fight, but one who seemed much more human than Yune or Ashera. She even bled…
The Queen had decided to meet her as soon as she left the stands, and smiled brightly as Palutena noticed her, hurrying to get closer.
"Hello! I-I don’t think ‘help’ is the right word, but… I would like to speak with you. I am a friend of Lord Ike’s, you see, and I found your fighting to be quite… incredible."
"Ah, Ike? He was certainly hard to defeat, I can tell you that. It was no easy task."
It was true, Palutena had thought several times throughout the match that she might lose. She had a lot to learn in the art of fighting, it seemed. Though she used to protect herself in the past when her bodyguards went down, things had changed as of late, and her fighting skills were a little bit rusty.
"I did see you in the spectators' area, though. So, you were supporting him from afar, is that it? Well, as you may already know, I am Palutena, goddess of light. What about you?"
"Wha- what do you mean what is it? Didn’t you hear me?"
"Oh, you said something? I'm sure it wasn't anything important."
And people ship Palutena and Lucina just because of a single picture?
"Apparently. I'm not as surprised as you seem to be."

She nodded a little and then thought over how to answer the goddess’ question. “It basically makes me a princess and he the ruler, or king, of Ylisse.”
”What about you? From where do you hail as a goddess?” She was not sure if her question was stupid or not. She had never heard of her though, so she assumed it must be of a land she had not been too.
"I rule over Angel Land, a place where both those mortal and divine live... well, happily enough. We have our share of monsters straight out of the Underworld disrupting the peace, but that's where I and my army come in. Long ago, the land was populated with tons of angels. Now, though, there's just one: Pit, the captain of my personal guard. He's a competitor here, as well. A veteran returning alongside me, a newcomer."
The goddess took in a breath, folding her hands in front of her. She sure had been talking a lot, hadn't she? "A princess, though! I'm sure that's got to be hectic sometimes," she voiced, unaware of Lucina's hailing from a rather apocalyptic future.
"…Lady Palutena?"
"Yes, Pit? What is it?"
