trying to explain to people that katsuki started with izuku then came up with deku for belittlement and cruelty, but when izuku made deku his hero name and his perception of it briefly warped into a toxic idolization of all might (feeling as though he needed to do everything on his own) katsuki switched BACK to izuku (along with his apology) to ground and center him and only used deku during hero work which reiterated katsuki’s acceptance of what izuku told him in the beginning: “deku is the name of a hero” BUT THEN he went back to using deku casually even when izuku lost his powers, not as an insult, nor strictly as his hero name, but because he knew it wasn’t the end of izuku’s dream and that he’s just always been deku…
