My top 10 favorite routines/moments of 2018

1. Simone gets her vault named

What else is there to say? Just look at how superbly she does it. It’s one of the hardest ever vaults being performed for the first time, and so cleanly, by the best vaulter there ever was, imo. I feel so lucky to witness her.

2. Tingting becomes beam champion

THE MOMENT WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!! ACTUALLY COMING TRUE!!! AFTER I’D LOST ALL HOPE!!! From nervously waiting to see whether she’d make the final to winning with a great routine 😍

3. Russia winning Euros

Two words: NO FALLS. Still feels surreal that a team with Gelya as the veteran went and got the highest totals in every event, despite placing second in quals. Worlds team final might have been a huge mess but this was one of the most thrilling competitions I’ve watched and it was great to see France and the Netherlands on the podium.

okay so i’m watching 2014 high bar finals and there’s a croatian gymnast (moznik) who has his own skill, wrote his doctoral thesis on the biomechanics of said skill, and hates it when everyone else does the skill because they don’t do it to his liking
