pupfarmer:
Pouting he stuck his tongue out at them. Nothing bad happened in the end so they could have just let it go. It was only one little incident. (A complete lie, because there have been numerous instances where he came close to hurting someone). It was so bad that Kathy assigned him to do the less demanding tasks. Another word for cleaning up the place or running errands. Nothing dealing with potential weapons or hazards. One hazard along with another one made a greater hazard.
Fritz was just learning how to use a gun, after all, so he only managed to hit his target half the time. There were other factors that he needed to account for, but for now, simply knowing how to handle the recoil was important. The stance too. He couldn’t just hold the gun weakly unless he wanted to hurt himself. Danny told him guns were capable of hurting its user, if not used correctly. He didn’t do too bad for his first time, but it was clear he forgot about the task. Finding more pleasure in simply firing the weapon. “Not bad, right?”
Sadly he had to hand the gun back to Danny since he didn’t know how to refill a gun. In fact, he wasn’t even supposed to be learning how to use a gun. Captain Kathy forbade it. Saying it was best if he didn’t use it. The real reason being he was a hazard and could potentially harm someone or himself when handling a gun. Watching Danny refill the gun he looked back at the target.
“Hey, Danny? Do you have any tips or things I need to work on, so I can get better?”
“Eh,” Danny said, taking the gun back, refilling it with bullets. “You did all right, I guess.”
That was an understatement. Yeah, it looked like he’d only hit the target about half the time, while Danny would have been able to hit it pretty much every time. However, when Danny had first started out, he couldn’t hit anything- not on his very first round, at least! Already, Fritz was way better than that…
It was hard not to say something mean out of pure spite. Even though Danny was first mate, it was frustrating to see the amount of potential that Fritz had as second. It made him feel like if he wasn’t careful, he’d lose his position. After all, was Kathy really one to care about who joined the ship first? She’s probably say ‘skill is the most important thing’, or something like that.
When Fritz asked him what he needed to work on, it was all too tempting to give him an answer that would actually make him worse. Fritz was pretty gullible, after all. He’d probably swallow any lie he got… It would be so easy…
“…Well, I guess if anything, you looked just a little too trigger-happy,” Danny said, snapping the barrel of the gun shut, handing it back to Fritz. “In a real battle, you’ll have to worry about reload time. If you fire off all your bullets without taking the time to aim, you’ll run out before you hit anything, and that will put you in a tight spot.”
…Yeah, a lie would have been easy. But he hadn’t come out here to teach Fritz a bunch of nonsense. Going back on his original intention would be pretty stupid, wouldn’t it? He was jealous. But that just meant he’d have to try harder, too.
In any case, Fritz didn’t need to know just how good he was already. That was the one bit of satisfaction he could take out of this.
“Anyhow, want to do another round? See if you can actually hit the target more than half the time?”
“So that’s a could have done better?” I want to make you and Kathy proud. Fritz wasn’t exactly known for being a fighter, but he didn’t want them to be concerned with him. He had to hold his own too!
“Wha? It’s because it felt nice,” he whined. The adrenaline pumping throughout his system, the way the target suddenly became much clearer, the recoil of the gun, and the sound of the bullet fired rang out in his ears. It was all too surreal. He couldn’t believe it. Anyhow, the snapping of the barrel brought back his attention. Even though he could shoot, that was useless if he didn’t know how to reload a gun.
Battle time was something he never had to worry about before since nothing happened to make him battle something. Fighting monsters was different from fighting humans. He really didn’t know how he did it, it just happened. They would be defeated and he would find himself with numerous goods. There was a time he fought numerous golems for Kathy in order to collect materials for her. How he did it? He couldn’t remember that either.
Right now what mattered was the advice that Danny was giving him, it would help him in the future. Whenever he fought. Whether it be a monster or a human, but he hoped it wasn’t human. Fighting another human was more painful than anything. That’s why he wanted to do this. All his attention was on Danny, soaking up all the information and tips from his elder like a sponge. What if...
Looking at Danny curiously he piped up, “But what if you fire all of them on purpose? Wouldn’t that throw them off? You can just stab them when they come close, cuz they might think you’re a bad fighter. Or! Or next time when you reload you can surprise them by not missing a shot. Is that a smart idea?” Maybe we don’t even have to fight! Maybe they’ll get scared and run off!
Despite being the least willing to fight, who knew that he could casually mention these things without any remorse. Then again, he didn’t know. He was just blunt when it came to these things, he was unaware of what implications or new impressions Danny might get out of this moment. Sadly, Fritz would never realize. Not with Danny offering another round, he practically ripped the gun from their hands.
Rushing to where the target was, gun in hand, he moved a good distance back from the target. It made no sense to shoot a gun inches away from the target because landing a bullet was guaranteed. Looking at Danny he aimed at the target, preparing himself for the recoil. That is, until he realized something. Turning to face Danny he laughed nervously, “Should I start?”
Some off-the-books training || [[Danny/Fritz]]
pupfarmer:
He was more than a little glad when Danny let the topic drop since he wasn’t exactly fond of talking about that. Not yet at least. There were things that people didn’t need to know. Although, he could sense that Danny wanted to help. Or maybe that was just wishing. It was hard to tell. Danny would usually boss him around and he would go along with it. Why? Because it was fun!
A little startled from the gun being snapped shut, he flinched slightly. It’s not like he never heard a gun being reloaded, but this was the first time that he would attempt using it. He saw Kathy use guns regularly and it was clear that she had massive experience in using weapons. The only weapons that Fritz had were his own two hands. It wasn’t much, but it was something.
Once again Danny was being harsh on him. It wasn’t his fault that his hands were covered in butter that he nearly threw the knife. Granted Danny had a right to be cautious since the knife nearly missed. It was an accident of course! His knife rights were swiftly taken away that day. Pouting he crossed his arms as a form of retaliation. “That was one time! You’re not gonna let that go, are you? I’ll have you know it was by accident!”
Either way, he made his way towards his mentor for the day. Awestruck his face was when he saw Danny firing the bullets with ease. Not as graceful as Kathy, but it was still amazing nevertheless. Hitting the target looked easy, but he could tell it wasn’t. “They can break your wrist?” That’s scary! How can the captain do it all the time?! He was more than a little nervous now.
Finally, it was time for him to use it. Although, now he wished he wasn’t so eager. He could only think about his wrist being broken. Looking back at Danny for comfort he took the gun from them and faced the dummy. Okay… Recoil. Don’t hold the gun stupid. These are fake. It’s okay.
Taking a deep breath in order to calm his nerves he held the gun with two hands, and he aimed. His grip tightened and his arms extended to account for recoil. Hesitation passed through him, but he forced himself to pull the trigger. Danny wasn’t wrong when they said there was recoil. His hand jerked back slightly as the bullet made its way to the intended target.
What happened next probably was the most unexpected part of the day. All he could remember was feeling joy? Excitement? It was hard to say. An adrenaline rush from having fired a gun. Smiling and laughing he continued to fire away until all the bullets were gone. Once he finished he lowed the gun and looked at Danny, “I wanna go again!”
“The fact that it was an accident only makes it worse!” Danny retorted. Jeez, honestly… There were many times that he couldn’t make heads or tails of Fritz, but he was pretty convinced that the man was a natural hazard to both himself and others. Why was he training him to use a gun again? This was pretty much guaranteed to be a disaster.
…Which was why it was surprising when Fritz let out several rounds without a single problem. Hell, he’d even managed to hit the target at least once, he was pretty sure. Danny was stunned. And then, he was jealous. The first time he’d learned how to use a gun, he’d missed the target every single time. No fair- why did Fritz get to be better at this than him?!
“Yeah, yeah- I got more bullets right here. First things first though- let’s see how you did with landing hits.” They were only rubber bullets, so they wouldn’t leave behind the same kind of damage as a real bullet. Still, there would be some sort of damage on the target from the impact. By looking at that, they’d be able to judge how well Fritz did at actually hitting his target.
Danny held out his hand before walking over, though- silently asking Fritz for the gun back. He wanted to be the one to fill it with bullets for the time being. Though, come to think of it, he should probably show Fritz how to do it at some point. Even if it was a potential hazard on ship, it was better than having him mess it up in a critical situation.
Pouting he stuck his tongue out at them. Nothing bad happened in the end so they could have just let it go. It was only one little incident. (A complete lie, because there have been numerous instances where he came close to hurting someone). It was so bad that Kathy assigned him to do the less demanding tasks. Early morning shenanigans || Iris and Fritz
pupfarmer:
He always started his day early. It wasn’t strange to be up before the sun shined since he ran a farm. Farmwork was hard when you were the only one working on it, even with monsters. Thankfully his companions were able to help out when needed. Today he was able to leave the work to his companions while he delivered whatever mail was left over from the previous day that hadn’t been delivered. As much as the Pelago Express tried to deliver things on time, it wasn’t exactly easy.
Smiling and whistling a tune to himself he made his way through the darkness, he wasn’t scared. Most people were still asleep during this time. Before he could put the mail in the mailbox he heard a voice, causing him to get startled. When he turned to face the person who greeted him he could have sworn they’ve seen them before. Although, he could also sense that they’ve never met before.
Regardless he smiled in return, “Good morning!” At the comment of how early it was, he laughed, “Is it? I’m usually up this early. Would you like your mail or would you like me to put it in your mailbox instead?”
“Oh erm..” You could hardly receive mail when it had nowhere to go after all. Still, it hadn’t answered her question at all, seemed he wasn’t aware. “I shouldn’t have any post.. But that’s an awful lot to deliver on your own, especially since the sun isn’t even up.”
It seemed rather unfair to do all of it on his own. “Would you like any help.. I can’t help for long but I can do some of it for you.” It wouldn’t be long after all, until the sun finally crept over the horizon and she would have to run back into the depths of the forest. But until then it felt right to offer.
She shouldn’t have any post? But everyone has a post... Unless he had gotten information mixed up somehow. It wasn’t the first time it happened, but he was sure they had mail. Then again this was the first time he saw her. It could be that she recently moved to the islands. His thoughts were interrupted when she continued. Looking at his satchel he shook his head, “Not really. I’m used to it. On holidays there’s way more!”
Before he could apologize for the mishap and take off to deliver the rest of the mail he was stopped. He was confused about why she would offer to help, even if it was for a short time. Staring at her, trying to judge her actions, he found that there was nothing to be suspicious of. Giving her a smile he took out a stack of envelopes and handed it to her, “Let's go then! We better get down to business and deliver the most and best we can!”
help wanted: summoner quest!
pupfarmer:
[ from here ]
Fritz wasn’t one for fighting, but he didn’t want this person to go all alone. Besides, they were going to forge a pact, so it wasn’t like he was going to help this person kill a monster. Danny had taught him how to use a gun and he thought that this opportunity could help out in training. Dan had helped him with learning and trusting his monster companions more. He didn’t know all too much about summoners but assumed they were the same as beastmasters.
The biggest issue now was actually convincing this person he was capable of going. What he lacked in strength he made up in defense. It took him a while to reach the villa, but when he did he felt a little intimidated. He already lived in Arcadia, so she didn’t need to worry about transportation fees. Ringing the doorbell he waited patiently. He was trying to calm his nerves in the meantime. Not only did he has mail of the latest ongoings of the island for Dia, but he also wanted to bring up the request.
“Hello? Anyone home?”
Leuda wasn’t as prosperous as Arcadia when it came to nature, but it was still possible to have a beautiful garden, with just the right people and with just the right care. Perhaps they used green magic for the flowers and the shrubbery to grow. Or the land where the villa stood was special. Dia did not know of the details, but she was grateful for whatever reason it was. She was able to enjoy the tranquility of the front garden when she’s not too busy reading a book.
In the middle of admiring the various spring bulbs, she hears a voice from outside their gates. An attendant was quick to respond, but she dismissed them right away. Who could it be?
The man calling their attention was tall with incredibly messy hair. They purchase produces and ingredients from time to time, but he didn’t seem to have any with him. He didn’t seem like a beggar but discerning his true motives with one glance was close to impossible. “The villa is rarely empty. Rest assured there is always someone here.” It was both an answer to his question, and a threat. She wouldn’t want any thieves or pirates targeting her home. ”What business do you have here?”
He nearly jumped from the sudden voice. He knew there was going to be someone, but he didn’t think they would immediately talk to him. He expected them to greet him and then talk, not jump step one. Either way, he turned to face the person who was calling him. He had to look down, considering he was taller than her. It was normal for him to look down, but it felt especially strange when he was way taller than the other person.
Of course, he was afraid. This woman threatened him! Women were scary when they were angry. He knew from experience and tried not to make women upset with him. What was that saying? A happy wife, a happy life. Okay... She wasn’t his wife or anything, but the saying basically meant: don’t upset women. The business he had? Well, he was trembling from her presence. She was a force to be reckoned with.
Saluting to her he held out the request towards her. “I-i-i’m here to help out with a summoning pact. I’m looking for Dia Silverberg, m-ma'am!” He was afraid, that much was obvious. However, she shouldn’t underestimate him. He may not know how to fight well, but he was more skilled in the defensive arts. Using the strength of his monsters and combining it with his. He was more than willing to serve as a shield.
MOOVING UP A YEAR
@rxzberries
It was his cousins birthday! He... Had no idea how old she was turning. That didn’t matter, right? As long as he said happy birthday. Fritz only remembered because he wrote it down on his calendar. In four days it would be his birthday! He couldn’t wait for it. He was going to take a day off and celebrate with his pets and monsters. They deserved to have a party too!
Anyways, at the matter in hand, he showed up to her door and knocked. It was still early. Five in the morning it was. He wouldn’t be able to stop by later on at a reasonable time. It was either five in the morning or eleven thirty at night. Gia needs to get up anyways! She’s gotta run a farm! All he brought was a dozen milk bottles. She already had enough, but it’s the thought that counted right? He also made her card. A horribly drawn horse on the front.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I HOPE YOU REMANE AWESOME! CONGRATS ON TURNING OLDER! GIA LET’S HAVE A HORSE RACE SOMETIME! I DON’T HAVE ANY HORSES, BUT I’LL RENT ONE! JUST THE TWO OF US! I’LL STOP BY LATER IN THE DAY GIA! HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD ONE.
FRITZ
If she didn’t answer at this ungodly hour he would just leave the milk near the doorstep and birthday card in the mail. He would hug her another time.

Founding Celebration Dance
The dance was coming up and he didn’t want to miss it. The only problem was that he didn’t have enough time to get something more formal. Most of his clothing had tears and holes in them from rough use, but he normally patched them up with other pieces of fabric if it was really bad. Fritz was never one for suits, seeing them as restricting. If he was going to dance why not be comfortable?
Although now came the issue of what his pets and monsters will do while he was gone. They normally got into a mess and he would return to even more messy home. I just hope they don’t wreck the entire house while I’m gone. The last time they ruined the entire kitchen. Looking for his canine companion Gold, he patted them on the back. “Good luck.”
Welcoming gift
@castanet-kid
He had heard that there was a new mayor on the island! It was sad to see Luke go, but it’s not like he really talked to them. From what he knew from others Luke decided to resign to spend more time with his family. He never knew that the former mayor had a wife and child, so he understood. He respected the former mayor’s decision.
This time he decided something. He was going to have a sort of connection with a fellow mayor. Unlike Luke whom he only knew from others, he would rather learn the new mayor personally. Gill was his name from what he heard. He didn’t know them at all. (That’s what he assumes). Still, it would be strange to waltz in Leuda’s City Hall to demand an audience with the new mayor.
He might be busy. Should I send a letter instead? That maybe would be better… So he set out to write them a letter along with a gift. Something he had personally grown. He hoped they didn’t find it strange when they did receive the Casablanca Lillies he had grown along with the letter.
Dear Gill,
I don’t think we’ve met, but I hope things are going well. I would come see you, but I don’t want to bother you. You must be busy after all, with being Leuda’s new mayor and all. Here’s hoping we can get to know each other. Oh, be sure to get rest here and there. I know you’re mayor, but mayor’s need rest too! You don’t have to do everything all by yourself! That’s why you have a team of people helping you out! And you’ve also got someone who can help you out in a pinch. The former mayor, Luke. I don’t know him too well sadly, so I can’t really tell you much.
This probably doesn’t make any sense, huh? Guess I’ll just end it here. I know you’ll be an awesome mayor Gill!
Arcadia’s Mayor, Fritz
“I hope you like it, Gill.”
How interesting. Gill went over the letter a few times, trying to discern all information he could before writing the reply, the lilies were a nice touch. This Fritz had clearly put a lot of his personality there, so he should as well, no? So rather carefully, Gill began to craft his own reply, gilded lettering for his and his fellow mayors names, thick unlined writing paper and every swirl and curl he could put into his writing.
Fritz.
A pleasure to hear from you. Please know that as long as city hall is open, I should always be able to make time, should you wish to drop in at any time.
I thank you very much for your kind words, and also the Casablanca Lilies. A beautiful touch. I do hope the writing set I’ve attached serves you well.
I very much look forward to working with you, to ensure the well being of our Islands.
Giles. L Hamilton Mayor of Leuda.
He secured the letter in a box, the fountain pen and pot of ink secured safely below it. He prayed they would make it there in one piece. Wouldn’t do to ruin all his hard work after all, or to look like he wasn’t up to scratch.
Getting a letter back was nice and all, but... He had never felt so intimidated in his life. It wasn’t the actual words written on the response, no, definitely not that. The letter was short itself and to the point, but... The way it was written. Gilded lettering, thick swirls, and curls for each and every word. The fact that this new mayor put their full name.
Oh man, he was definitely feeling intimidated. I swear this guy with a fountain pen or something. There’s no way he achieved this with a regular pen. Still, Fritz couldn’t help but be a little inspired by the way it was written. It was evident that the new mayor had a sort of air to them. The kind that would be taken seriously no matter what. Almost regal like. he could tell that Leuda would be okay with Giles in charge.
Putting the response into one of his drawers he continued his paperwork. If he’s working hard, then I should too!
how not to train your wolf
open
Kyle thought monster training was hard when his first monster– a hunter wolf named Lucina– kept attacking him instead of following his orders. He knew he understood, but for some reason, she liked being disobedient a few times before actually doing what Kyle says. If this was her way to be playful than Kyle needed to review a few pointers and start improving his healing magic.
His silver wolf Morgan, however, was quite the opposite. If Lucina was an aggressive wolf, Morgan was too chill. If he’s not resting, he’s just eating whatever Kyle brought him. Then he’d rest again. Maybe move a little. Then he’ll rest. Again.
Maybe this is why he was tamed so easily. He just wanted to freeload somewhere.
“Like master, like monster, huh?” Kyle sighs as he runs a hand down his face. He’s been trying to teach Morgan how to attack. Be a little more aggressive. But all he’s doing so far was nap. Big mood, but as a wolf, he needed to be prepared. Else, Kyle will just have to leave him behind every time he’s out adventuring.
He still hasn’t given up, however. With more determination, Kyle commands Morgan once more, “Morgan, attack!” He points towards a toy he used as dummy practice, hoping to the Gods and the Dragons it will have some kind of effect.
As if through some miracle, Morgan’s ears perk up, and he rises. Then, he looked towards the direction of the doll and ran. Kyle couldn’t believe what he was seeing right now. Morgan was quick, and within seconds, he was already– wait, what?
“Morgan, stop!” Kyle panicked as he saw Morgan pounce a passerby instead of the doll he was using as a target. He could see it now. Beastmaster attacks local citizen. Who is this man and why is he terrorizing us in the midst of the founding celebration?!
Contrary to his master’s point of view, however. Morgan wasn’t biting into the flesh of the passerby, but simply licking them fondly. Probably tired of his masters commands.
Naturally, he was more than startled when a silver wolf suddenly pounced on him. Although, he felt something warm on his cheek. The monster was licking them! With that, he started to laugh and pet the creature. Fritz was never one to shy away from the prospect of a friend. He could see that this monster just wanted to play, or maybe they just wanted some affection.
He hadn’t tamed a Silver wolf to know, but he did have a dog of his own. Sadly, he didn’t bring Gold with him today. The two canines could have been friends. What his canine companion didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them. Fritz was also a person who couldn’t read the situation. Not caring about the little details. Such as: where this silver wolf had come from, the owner, and why wasn’t the monster ripping him to shreds.
There wasn’t any need for that since the monster was friendly. So friendly that they allowed him to rub their belly. A monster needed to be shown some affection, especially after a long day. Fritz always made sure his monsters and pets received the daily dose of affection. he didn’t even notice the monster’s master next to him. They weren’t doing anything to stop this, and it wasn’t like anything bad was happening either. After a while, he finally turned to face the master of this wonderful creature.
“You’ve got a beauty of a monster, Mr! They’re a real cutie! Make sure to take good care of them okay? I’m pretty sure they wanna have some cuddling. Who doesn’t?”
Early morning shenanigans || Iris and Fritz
@pupfarmer
It was rather early in the morning, about 4? Iris wanted to say. She was quite fortunate, this time of the year meant she could actually stay outside for longer, and see all the flowers that were beginning to bloom up in spite of the chill in the spring air.
It was with quite a shock then, that someone was walking up the street already. Though this delivery man was certainly not unwelcome. Iris was delighted at seeing someone new. He seemed quite chipper over all, and so she saw no issue with starting a conversation, hopefully he had the time.
“Good morning! It’s pretty early for deliveries isn’t it?”
He always started his day early. It wasn’t strange to be up before the sun shined since he ran a farm. Farmwork was hard when you were the only one working on it, even with monsters.

Wares from Across the Sea
“Welcome,” Ondorus spoke with a calm smile, attempting to be as cordial as he could. Throughout his travels from both within the Univir clan and in the scarce months before reaching Arcadia, Ondorus had collected several objects that held a certain interest to him. Though, he admitted that some of the objects had been collecting dust in his home as of late. So, what better than to make some money selling some of them.
After all…he had certainly fallen on difficult times, it would seem. His empty wallet told that story well enough.
Clear Crystal - 20,000G
A simple clear crystal, small enough to fit comfortably in your pocket. Though it appears to be just an ordinary crystal, this crystal actually serves as a sponge for any curses, ill-intent, or major harm. If the holder is targeted by a curse, misfortune, or any injury causing more than 3HP of damage, this crystal will absorb it and the wearer will not be struck with anything.
However, with every misfortune absorbed, the more a cloudy fog will grow inside of the crystal. After two misfortunes, the crystal will turn completely black, looking akin to a piece of onyx rather than crystal. Once in this state, the crystal must be disposed of properly by the church or the dragon shrine, or else it will slowly poison the holder or, if not held, will rapidly decay everything around it.
Writer’s Quill - 5,000G
A special quill that writes on its own. It will write down every single thought of the person who directly touched it last, provided that it is set down on some paper. However, that does mean every single thought. While it could be useful to write notes when your hands are tied…if your minds happen to wander…
Awakening Mask - 10,000G
Everyone has a part of themselves that they keep locked away. It is said that this mask helps awaken your true self - bad or good - if you were to put it on, setting the real you wild upon the world.
If you put this mask on, it will disappear. The wearer will not feel it on them, and nobody is able to see it on them. While this mask is worn, the wearer’s true self will be on full display, whether they like it or not. They will act as how they think and say as what they mean, whether it is positive or negative. However…if someone else sees this true self and accepts it wholeheartedly…then they will be able to see the mask on the wearer’s face and remove it for them.
Sealer’s Lock-box - 25,000G
An old, worn lock-box with an old key. Some say that this box can lock certain things away, though Ondorus isn’t quite sure if those rumors are true.
By putting something in this box…you are in essence locking something important away. Some of the things are symbolic. For example, locking away a picture of someone special to you or an object that reminds you of someone special…you will completely forget about them. And some of the things are more direct. Putting in something containing your magic will lock away your magic. Putting in a piece of yourself or someone else (such as hair, for example), you will be locking away your good health or their good health.
Seaglass - 100G (Quantity: 5 3)
In the corner of his table, Ondorus has a small bowl of seaglass. He just thinks seaglass is very pretty, and enjoys collecting them if he finds it on the beach. However…he has a bit too many now. Please help this poor unicorn man.
This man had cool things! He knew that booths were going to have unique items, but he never thought someone would be selling these things. Truthfully he wanted to grab all the items remaining and feel them, even though that may cause the man to get angry at him. The box looks awesome! Thankfully he was able to control himself enough not to yank the items before paying. Not a good first impression.
Still, he really wanted to touch all the items. He tried to play it off as he looked at this mans wares, but the thought persisted. He really wanted to know, but asking? Asking was out of the question. Not now. Only when he was on their good side. Although... He was intrigued by the awakening mask. A little scared of what it could do, but he thought it looked pretty cool.
The side of him he didn’t want people to see, he was terrified of that. He wasn’t even sure what his true self was. He constantly tried forgetting. It was much easier to live life being ignorant. Nothing to plague your mind. Whenever bad thoughts started rising, he quickly suppressed them with happy memories.
Pulling out the money required he pointed at the mask. “Can I have it?” The question came, almost as a plea. He was a little startled himself when it came out that way. It was too late, but he was willing. Willing to buy the mask that could shatter his fabricated reality. A reality mashed together from bits and pieces.
Looking at the man a bit shyly he added, “Is it okay if I can touch the other items you have for sale?”
