ok for folks who are struggling with problematic faves, some tips so you don't feel like you have to not like anyone. a) everyone on this planet has fucked up at one point. all our faves, all our loved ones, all of us. I know we call idols perfect angels and whatnot but it's not true. they are just people and more complex then that. b) your faves good and bad points don't negate each other. people can do great things and say shitty things at the same time. (1/2)

(2/2) c) your fave is most likely never gonna hear the crit of them. but that doesn’t matter. because their words or actions hurt fans and listeners and it’s important to recognise that and decry it d) you get to decide what’s too much for you. it’s your line, your boundary. you aren’t a bad person for liking someone who fucks up, as long as you aren’t trying to handwave or defend their actions. e) people make huge statements ‘this person is trash’ but what they mean is ‘this action hurt me’
